basically, for some reason my laptop only receives wireless up to about 1 meter from the router, any distance in excess of that, and it still shows the signal is there but says it’s just not connected.
any tips?
(i have a bt home hub (BT2700HGV) and a sony vaio laptop. )
ive tried re-setting the router, loggin into it and seeing if there is anything i can change. nothing.

Buy a better router?
Hell, I’m terrible with computers, so that’s the best advice I have. Maybe you could call your internet provider. Pooooooop.

So is it the router that cuases the problem or the laptop? If its the laptop check your wlan it could be in energy saving mode, if its your router open your browser and type your ip adress check if your router isnt blocking you.

urr, power saving settings are all off, the routers firewall isn’t blocking it or anything.
it wouldn’t benifit from an enlarged antennae, its not the signal being emitted thats the problem, just the reception.
i’ll give bt a call or something
