When I turn on my computer (win xp), when its at the stage before you put in your password where it says stuff like applying network settings etc, it takes forever on "running startup 5cripts". This is not present on a normal setup of windows but my school’s techs are pricks and they made the 5cripts take about 3 minutes to run. Where would these 5cripts be located so that I can mess with them? boot.ini? sorry if this is a noob question.

I just want to find out the location of these 5cripts. I’m sure it’s referenced somewhere.

I’m not completely sure, but if you can run ’msconfig’ (open a run dialog, that’s probably blocked, but you can use Process Explorer (google it) to do so), it opens a dialog that allows you to mess with the programs that run at boot time. Select the ’Startup’ tab (I think that’s the one, it might be something else in there).
