I wanna rob a bank, but need 2-5 partners to do it with me. who wants to join for a quick chance at lots of cash? I promise we won’t get caught (only 1 in 13 do, on average in the US).

the 1 in 13 statistic was provided by the OC Register (newspaper). Easy- get all the number of reported band robberies, and compare that to how many times the robbers got caught.
And government doesn’t really care about it, since if they did, it would cost a whole lot of money to follow up everytime someone suggests robbing a bank. This cost will be shown in the annual budget and the public will find out that its a giant waste of money since its hard to figure out whether someone’s kidding or not.
And apparently bank robbery with its extremely high payoffs and low chance of getting caught, is getting pretty popular around the country- total robberies has been increasing, and the total arrested hasn’t. One city had 4 robberies in one day (as reported by the newspaper) by 4 different people. In this wonderful state, saying that you’ve got a gun will be the same thing as sticking a real gun in someone’s face, people believe even when obviously some robbers don’t have a gun at all.
