Thanks KS, for laying out expanded guidelines. If people would read and understand them more often, there would be a lot less crap on this site.
However...
One thing I feel pretty strongly about is ’staying power’.
When a new egg is based completely on another website (other than image/video hosting sites), it’s long term staying power is questionable. The Egg Directory is already stuffed with link eggs, referral eggs, ’download this!’ eggs, among others... We don’t need any more dead eggs.
Look at the New Eggs page. Two referral eggs. Those two eggs don’t have sufficient rating to make it in the Directory at the moment, but many have made it through the review process. They aren’t benefiting Rotteneggs at all. I’ve only seen a couple people say they’d click the referral link, and the majority (if not all) of those clicks were ’pity clicks’.
If people want referrals, or lists of referral sites, join the Referral Exchange Group and have a ball.
As far as I’m concerned, these are droppable.
Fill the directory with eggs that will still be good in a year.
Opinions plz.

It’s been just about a full day, I guess there are no objections... I am going to be enforcing this rule from now on. Link eggs and referral eggs beware.

I’d really like the drug egg rule to be defined with clear lines.
Is rolling "cigarettes" eggs acceptable?
How about making tobacco pipes?

Personally, if I were to be inclined to make an egg about how to make a pipe, I would only refer to legal uses (according to US federal and California State laws), and put a disclaimer that in most places you must be 18 to purchase tobacco related products... Just to be safe.
