First, lets make a distinction here and say we’re talking about tangible items only like money or goods. Not music, not ideas, not scamming, not the Brooklyn Bridge etc.
Are you ok with stealing from stores? How about from an individual? How about never? Are there certain circumstances when you think it is ok to steal? If so, what are they. I’m just curious what RE thinks about this subject.

I don’t mind steaing if it is the only option. If you don’t have another way to make a living than its okay. Stealing for a thrill is ridiculous.
And I know that you said this wasn’t what you meant but what the Hell. I don’t care about music, movies, and other ideas like that. I think those things should be free for all to use.

I don’t steal, I don’t advocate stealing. I also don’t try to stop people or rat them out. I don’t think people should, but hey, whatever, it happens.

Stealing’s pretty stupid, people have to EARN what they get.
Stealing from stores isnt as bad as stealing from people. When you steal from stores they wont notice it’s gone. Where as if you steal from a person it would hit them pretty hard.

I’ll steal from stores only if I’m broke, or the item I want is ridiculously expensive. I don’t steal from people. That is just fucked up. Unless it’s their viriginity. Rape FTW!

only things i see ok to steal are food stuffs, and that is only if you need it (can be obtained by asking nicely in most cases anyways). for anything else... get a job bum. and don’t steal from the poor!

Yes, there are some situations that I could permit stealing from an individual. Honestly, Bill Gates won’t miss a few billion. As far as common every day folk who work hard for what they have, it’s never commendable.

There are some things in my past that I’m not very proud of. At one point, I was wanted by a state for dozens and dozens and dozens of Class C Felonies. Thankfully, they’ve looked past me and still have the cases unsolved on their desks, and the statute runs out November 20th 2010.
I’ve been young and dumb, I realize how easy some shit is. Several years ago, back in 1999 or something, I was actually credited with forcing Walmart to install those magnet-strip detectors because they were missing PlayStations, DiscMans, TVs, games, etc etc etc every week. I remember one trip me and a friend of mine walked out with two 36" TVs, four PlayStations, and about a dozen games.
But after doing all that, I realize how easy and unskillful it is. A Neanderthal could steal like I did if he was trained right. But it was immoral. And once you start having things, you’ll realize your mistakes when the karma comes back around. I got my karma, I stopped my shit. I’ve led a productive life since. Except for the weed, I don’t break laws at all.

I’m just wondering the justification someone tells themselves when they steal from someone else. If you’ve ever had anything stolen, you know how crummy that feels so I don’t see how a person could willingly make someone else feel that way. I really want to hear what it takes to be able to do that. So, someone speak up.

Stealing from stores is wrong as well.. When I was a slave at Kame Apart, we had an employee who stole $750+ worth of DVDs and shit from the back room. So they installed a camera back there, and we lost our weed spot :(

I personally think stealing from anywhere is just wrong but under certain circumstances it can be permitted. I’m sure we are all guilty of this or it could just be me but when you are walking around with your mom as a kid in a grocery store and you couldn’t find the water fountain you went and grabbed a chocolate milk from the shelf and drank it then threw out the bottle. I’ll admit I have done that once or twice. Those sorts of things won’t make you a bad person or somebody who lacks and moral values.
But lets say like what smurf juice did... stealing those TV’s and whatever, that’s wrong. I can’t really give an exact reason why it’s wrong besides the fact that it’s stealing something big and you probably won’t be using those things for your small personal use it will be to sell and make a profit off something you had no right to have in the first place.
On thing that I do still to this day is do simple cons to people and stores. I won’t get into detail about it but I can get the person working the register to hand me 10 dollars out of it without even knowing they just lost that money. I don’t see a problem with that because it is out of their own stupidity that they lost it and probably deserved to be taken advantage of. I am not going to lie, I will take advantage of somebody if I am given the opportunity to. I just tell myself they should have known better and they won’t ever know what happened so they never feel the pain like they would if they just got robbed. That’s my justification.
Now on the personal level. I would never break into somebody house or locker or whatever to steal something because thats just something I can’t do. I have had shit taken from me and I know if feels terrible and I would just imagine the other person feeling the same way so I couldn’t put them through it.

Minus my reasoning...
I think stealing from stores, may be permitted depending on what it is.
But if your caught, your screwed.
Stealing from friends, is NEVER ok.
(And I am talking about friends who are there for you, or respect you etc. etc.)
Stealing from random people, again not ok.
(Unless they have it coming. Such as they robbed you, or a good reason. Not because there dicks)
