"Emo" To Be Made Illegal In Russia?

No witty title. Just for pure discussion.

Being completely honest, I figured they would’ve regulated this shit a long time ago. Oh well. This just means no more shitty music and even shittier looking people to come out of Russia.

Okay. The latter half of that statement isn’t entirely true. Hey, at least it’ll keep those "scene kids" from making themselves public enemies because I know I’m not the only one out there that can’t stand those trendy bastards.

P.S. On a completely unrelated note, Dre (Dr.) has finally completed his album "Detox" and has said that he is expecting to have it on shelves between November and December of this year. My most anticipated of 2008!

This could have a backlash.

Itll have emos everywhere getting into the "My ’Lil Actvivist" phase and theyll all start taking up half-hearted protests to "protect their emo brothers and sisters".

Then my emo-flogging business will survive this recession. So yeah, its a good law!

I won’t believe that Dr.Dre is actually gonna release the album until I see it.

Yea, it’s definately not coming out this year, once again. He’s been saying the same shit for 6 years now.

You know what happens then? They get shot. No, not even that. They will be annihilated.

You do realize it’s because he wants what he thinks will be the "perfect" tracklist and has been demoing supposedly about 100-200 songs in the time-span of 8-9 years since "(The Chronic) 2001" came out?

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/07/23/dr-dre-confirms-detox-nearly-done-could-come-later-this-year/

I’m ready to believe it this time just reading those excerpts.

Yes, I am very aware. Are you aware every summer for the past two years he has claimed his album will come out in the 4th quarter of the year, just as he is doing now? Yea, it’s possible for it to come out, but due to observational facts, I do believe he is once again doing the same thing as he did previously. Plus I don’t wanna get my hopes too high, heh.

BTW I’M MOVING TO RUSSIA BRB.

Actually, he hasn’t. It hasn’t happened every Summer. I agree with you it’s happened a lot, but he’s periodically announced it a lot, but he never gave any rough ideas of when it would be released. He always kept saying "this year" or whatever.

My hopes get high each time he does announce it. Plus, I remember even reading a couple of years ago he was shooting for a 2008 release.

I don’t know. I’m just banking on the fact that he’s telling the truth this time. I’ll know for sure as soon as I see a picture of the album artwork.

Oh and along with the fact that he was busy helping the artists on his label and focusing on what he loves doing which is producing. You also have Snoop as a close personal friend who is confirming this as well.

An emo uprising? Will they slit their wrists in protest?

Sounds like the Russians will just have to mop up the blood and the tears seeing as the emos will do away with themselves without a fight.

They made the wrong law for the wrong reason. I mean, I’m happy the the worldwide emo population will slightly decrease from this, but can’t we just let the problem sort itself out? The law is supposedly going to decrease the amount of suicidals in Russia, but won’t that decrease by itself anyway? There be some weird shit going on in Russia right now, and emos are the least of their problems.

Alexander Grishunin, an adviser to bill sponsor Yevgeny Yuryev, described a ban as necessary, stating: "This is the first step in the public discourse."

Now, I don’t know what to think of this really, but I don’t think any sane person can say that an outright ban is "the first step."

LOL

Anyway, I don’t think banning emos will stop suicide. I mean, suicide’s illegal, is that really helping?
Here’s what someone I know had to say about that:
Quote:

Of course, why didn’t we think of it before!
If we just outlaw angst and depression, it will go away!
Here I’ve been in therapy for almost ten years, I pop more drugs than Keith Richards, and all this time the solution has been to change my hairstyle and wear bright colors.
* JustinRyan smells a blog rant coming on

And I’d like to know more about this law. What the hell does it entail? People can’t dress like an emo? And I’m sure it’ll be misconstrued. I wear a lot of black, I know others that do the same, have piercings as well, and are nowhere near emo. So what the hell is going on in this law? I’d ask to read it, but I don’t think I can read Russian.
