I finally got a new computer today, from some guy I found on craigslist, heres the specs:
1 Gig ram
2.4 Ghz AMD single core
Geforce 7300Gt
And a wireless keyboard, mouse, and speakers, tv card and some other crap all for 250 Dollars!
Anyway, what’s everyone install on a new computer? halp me.

New cpu for a start. thatll set you back a hundred or so.
250bucks for that? i think you kinda got a little ripped. you could of got much better fro a bit cheaper

I meant software, I’ll get more ram eventaully, and I dont need a cpu(Im not playing crysis, runs spore though =D0 for a while. I didn’t get ripped cause its got other shit but I forget haha.

You could of bought that graphics card for about $30 second hand second hand meaning only used for a month or so by somone. if i were you id of built your own comp much better idea

Lol DAM right it wouldnt run crysis. If you could run crysis on that without any modifacations id give you my computer.

It does sound like you got ripped off a bit. What ind of stuff do you like doing? That would help with what people think you should install.

What are you planning on using it for?
Install what you need and no more, all it will do it slow down the computer if you install too much shit.

I didn’t get ripped off too badly, it has a nice tv card in it and is a decent computer, this thread isnt for discussing the price.
Damnbastard: Some gaming but not hardcore, internets, email and torrenting.

Ye 2.4Ghz single core. You’d expect atleast a duel core for 250bucks.

cool it’s a pretty good deal for 250. easily play cs:s and many other steam games.
