We have it worse because our parents are fucking up our futures(voting for fags, not voting for fags, etc).

Unless you grew up in the thirties or in the working poor class, you didn’t have it bad, regardless of your generation. Kids just like to talk about how awful their lives are like some pseudo-dramatic Dawson’s Creek rejects.

To be quite fair, kids nowadays have this notion that the world owes them everything. My dad grew up working 9-5 then taking night courses from 6-11 THEN a second shift from 11.30-3 am. He did that every weekday for six years just to be able to finish college now, I don’t have everything, I still have to work for my stuff but it’s nowhere near as hard as he did.
Adults generally have to worry about 100x more shit than kids, so in my opinion adults have it tougher. There are a fair share of useless parents as well and more mature kids so I dunno.

My life isn’t bad, and I know my mom’s life isn’t bad. So neither of us have it bad. Where is that option on your poll?

I agree with most of you Parents do have it pretty bad, But seriously teens have no worries no strees best time of our life? Haha you wish.
I Don’t know how life is in The states but Over here in UK its fucking rough, To be honest I admire your apinons but I’m awating another UK to express theres.
I’m Not sure which has it harder with today standards in the UK, I’ll prob say Parents because They don’t have to worry about getting stabbed on the way home or at work.

Honestly think about it, a parent is their child’s provider. If the child makes a mistake and gets kicked out of school, so what? You get a few bad grades. If the parent gets fired, then it’s a question of survival. We have people to fall back on, they do not.

dboi, i’m from the US, and you’re right, it’s not that teens don’t have any worries or stress at all, but it’s kinda insignificant compared to your parents trying to pay the bills so you can have electricity, cable, water, and internet...
i honestly wanna hear what dodge has to say in this thread...

oh, and for the record, emo may technically be a subgenre of punk, but it isn’t comparable to punk at all

Hand in hand, my Dad makes $120,000+ a year and has serious problems paying the bills. He has so many goddamn kids he tries to support, thus resulting in stress, while my brothers and sisters just sit reaping the benefits of a free ride for now, just how it is.

Being a teenager in general sucks. Hormones run rampant and with them comes vivid emotions. Everything is intense. A social slight seems like the end of the world. Teens are never sure of their place in society. They’re not children anymore but they’re not adults either. Adults tend to treat them as if they’re still children and there is a great struggle for respect. This is true no matter the generation of teenager. But, I think you’re asking if teens today have it worse than teens in the 1980’s (your parent’s generation). If this is true, I’ll give you my take since I was a teenager in the 1980’s.
Many families still had a parent who stayed at home (virtually unheard of today). Back in the day, there wasn’t the abundance there is today. Even children of wealthy families didn’t have the toys which today’s average kid enjoys. Most of us didn’t get a car at 16 and if we did, we had to get a job to buy it. We used our imaginations more. Sticks were swords. Bicycles were motorcycles. We got together more with extended family than people do now mostly because they lived closer. Now families are scattered across the US. We were more ignorant. If we wanted to know how something worked, we often couldn’t find the answer. Long distance phone calls cost .25 per minute. Forget about talking to someone in another country. Cellphones weren’t common. We couldn’t wander far from home because we had to physically check in regularly. We also didn’t worry about pedos much. Not because they didn’t exist, but because we were ignorant. For most of my childhood we had 5 channels of tv received by rabbit ears which required constant tweaking. Music albums cost almost what they do today and the music of the 80’s sucked ass. Most people didn’t have microwave ovens yet.
We didn’t have school shootings. Sure, we hated high school because it sucks and sure we had social issues wherever we went but we never had to worry about getting shot in our classrooms.
All in all, I think I would rather grow up today than back then. Although, I do miss some of the hairstyles and clothes. ;P
