Well from what it sounds like, Obama has admitted to smoking marijuana, and he wants to decriminalize it. I have seen videos of him on youtube making this statement. Do you think Obama can get congress to pass this sort of law? Do you think he can persuade the government to be pro-medical marijuana? Discuss it here.

Obama never said that, he wouldn’t
I looked for both candidates opinions on this and the only thing I got positive from Obama was an unofficial statement saying he wouldn’t send Feds after medical marijuana users, that’s it, no promise. Plus it’s not all up to him anyways, it’s on us to make that happen.

That was a while ago, and anyone in their right mind would say what he did, the drug war has been a complete fucking failure. He was being honest.

I agree with Obama though. The war on drugs has been a disaster. Its all about the temptation and peer pressure. If marijuana wasnt such a huge deal to law enforcement, then people wouldnt want to do it as much. It’s like telling a little kid to stay out of the cookie jar, knowing that he will grab a cookie anyways. I personally dont know why marijuana is illegal, but I think the laws concerning it should definatly be rethought

in michigan they put it on the ballet also we had a vote in school and ovewr 80% of the people voted to legalize it

The whole thing doesnt make sense though, why arent people making a huge fuss about alcohol. I can tell you that drunk driving accidents cause alot more deaths than marijuana per year.

i voted for him today... ron paul put a bill into motion to legalize recreational use of marijuana in all 50 states... it raises some good points about how marijuana is less harmful than both tobacco and alcohol...
idk, maybe obama’s decriminialization will make members of congress more lenient to ron paul’s bill

Yeah, like I said. The reason marijuana is abused is because of the temptation. I think that if it was legal, then it wouldn’t be as "cool" to do. I hope some people realize that fact.

He will not legalize or decriminalize it anytime soon your head is in the sky if you believe that. He has so much to worry about he wont even think about if for atleast 2 years. I would love it to happen but your just completely wrong if you think it will realistically happen.

Well think about all the money the govt already does make off of it!?!
The more cops they put in business because of the more people to arrest.
All the fines the "criminals" have to pay
All the money they pay the jails
It all circulates into the economy, if you legalized or even decriminalized marijuana, think about how many less prison/jail guards they’ll need, all the po’s they’ll need, all the less police officers/dea agents...it’s all relative
