Reading a thread on 4chan and a load of /b/tards couldn’t figure this out, only 1 or 2.
What’s wrong with this:
2 neutrons walk into a bar. One says "I think I’ve lost a proton."
The other says "Are you sure?"
The first replies "I’m positive."
So what’s wrong? I know, but I want to know if the rest of you do. I’ll be back tomorrow to catch up.

Protons have a positive charge. Neutrons have no charge. Electrons have the negative charge, so losing an electron would make it positive. If I remember correctly.

A neutron can’t lose a proton. Maybe if the joke was 2 atoms walk into a bar and one says I lost a proton?

The joke is "Two Atoms walk into a bar, one loses an electron"
Both Damn and Brjo are right, just not individually. Brjo is more wrong cuz he didn’t catch the charges on sub-atomic particals

a neutron is part of an atom. damnbastard u are right but this joke doesnt make sense b/c a neutron, proton, and electron are three different parts of an atom. Brjo’s version is correct

The joke is a funny one, but you did tell it slightly wrong.
/b/ doesn’t deserve your attention anyway. The only thing it’s good for is trolling.

If you lose a proton, then you’re negative.
-.-

A neutron does not have protons, as it is part of an atom. If an atom were to lose a proton, it would not be positive, it would be negative.

Two atoms walk into a bar.
One says "I think I’ve lost an electron"
The other says "Are you sure"
The first replies "Yeah... I’m positive"
to make it even more nerdy replace the atoms with atomic symbols or something.

Two kids walk into Magic Johnsons house
Kid one: Were looking for a cure for AIDS
Kid two: Ya I have it too
Magic: Are you sure you have aids
Kid 1: I’m not just sure, I’m HIV positive

I guess this is proof the average level of intelligence is higher on RE than /b/.
I told it wrong intentionally, because that’s how the person in the thread posted it; then an argument was started over everything.
For those who still don’t get it...like Spook...
In an atom’s nucleus are protons and neutrons. Protons have a positive charge, neutrons have a neutral charge.
Whizzing around the outside are negatively charged electrons. It’s the electrostatic force which keeps the atom together.
An atom may need to lose or gain an electron to have a full outer shell when bonding. If it loses an electron, it loses a negative charge so becomes positive. If it gains an electron, it gains a negative charge so becomes negative.
Anyway there were a lot of idiots making out as if an electron was not even a subatomic particle.
Thread can die now.

Seriously that explanation is another reason why that just isn’t funny.

The "HIV positive" saying was on it, and they found the cure to AIDS was money.
