Alright guys,
Im adopted as some of you know, and today as I was going through a filing cabinet in my "parents" office I found a file that was labeled with my biological Mom’s name. In it was a death certificate that said she committed suicide by drinking Rat Poison when I was 11 months old.

"Ten to twenty minutes after exposure, the body’s muscles begin to spasm, starting with the head and neck. The spasms then spread to every muscle in the body, with nearly continuous convulsions, and get worse at the slightest stimulus. The convulsions progress, increasing in intensity and frequency until the backbone arches continually. Death comes from asphyxiation caused by paralysis of the neural pathways that control breathing, or by exhaustion from the convulsions. The subject will die within 2–3 hours after exposure."

I’m a bit confused as to why your adoptive parents would have your biological mothers death certificate though? That seems a bit strange.
Don’t beat yourself up about it. You dont know what she was going through at the time, but life just obviously wasn’t worth living for her. I know that is a horrible way to die but if you can call it a "bright side", at least she got what she wanted, got away from all the shit in life. And don’t worry that you were one of the things that pushed her over the edge, or that she couldn’t have loved you otherwise she wouldnt have done it. When people feel so low that they really want to kill themselves, even something as powerful as love doesnt stand much chance of stopping it. Maybe she even thought it would be better for you to grow up in a different life.
I dont know if im saying the right things here, I know what I mean but don’t know how to say it. If something didn’t come accross properly then I’m sorry. And I’m sorry about your mom.

I’m sorry to hear that dude, don’t listen to verizoff. I think Coopz has hit the nail on the head here really, theres no way of telling what your mum was experiencing at the time, and i’m sure whatever caused her to end her life, she will of had your intentions at heart. And will of wanted you to have the best possible upbringing, it sucks that your "parents" now havent told you so far but they may of wanted you not to blame anything on yourself.

Ask your "parents" if she left a note or anything of that nature for you. If they have her death certificate then they probably have that too. That might be able to give you some insight into what she was experiencing at the time.
