I wish I had this kind of time. Getting a business degree is something you can do in your spare time, in between binge drinking sessions and unplanned pregnancies. But engineering is a different beast. The courseload leaves little time for a social life outside of other engineering students. In my case, with a full time job added, there was not even time for that.
Recall this thread from last December, when she wanted a Volkswagen body.

But it’s sick... we do city wide pranks here. Aka ones that make the news.
And this is the explanation. The cunning plan has been laid bare: It is to attach the Volkswagen to some structure in an inappropriate, public place, demonstrating their mastery of supporting the (mostly) static load of the Volkswagen.
(You have my permission to bump either thread if you wish.)
It probably looked like this. Is this the correct bridge?
But this year, it went horribly wrong.

Arrested? Say it isn’t so! Let me reiterate I have no way of knowing the identity of any of the students that were arrested.
On one hand, there have been entirely too many members here getting arrested. But on the other hand, most of the others’ arrests have been for acts that were impulsive, violent, and/or just plain stupid, while the Volkswagen thing is kind of cool. Not to mention nubile young women in jail are kind of hot.
I heard another account of the incident stating the rope held, and didn’t break until they tried to hoist the Volkswagen back onto the bridge, and apparently dragged the rope against a steel member, causing the rope to fray. And I suspect the arrestees will be "sentenced" to community service or some such thing.
I doubt Fuckineh will be back on this board anytime soon, until there’s a break in the coursework. But can anyone identify the arrested students?

I’m going to guess she was just a conspirator, and wasn’t present when the police showed up. That’s only a guess, though. We’ll just have to wait and see.

ZOMG!! That is not only hilarious but INGENIOUS! I think you have just usurped Atl as the resident detective. He seems to have been arrested himself as I have not seen him about for a while the his position is open.

There are pictures of 4 of them and a video of the arrest on this page. In the video, you can see the fifth person is male.
BTW, that’s not the bridge. That was last years.

Actually, I heard about this plan a while ago as my sisters boyfriend (drumroll) is also at UBC doing an engineering course. I really can’t see Mike not being involved in this however I can’t see him in any of those pics so I’ll have to await overhearing my sisters skype call with him tomorrow night.

Those pics are from last year’s hanging. That’s a suspension bridge, and the "E" was on the roof. This year, they painted the "E" on the door. Awesome images of the prank in progress, though. That looks like it would be one hell of a rush.
