I will be joing the US Army Infantry. I’ll be graduating this June and plan on hitting up BCT. My parents are not to fond of it. they said i’ll come back all fucked up in the head or i’d get shot.. Kinda pisses me off. So what you think?

I’m doing it for plenty of reasons. The benifits are good. If I dont make a career out of it they will help out a lot with college. At this point in my life i’m not doing any good im just going down hill I sell a lot of drugs which i’m sure will catch up to me soon and bite me in the ass with the law. All I do is drink and smoke pot everyday. Ive quit for a week its been kinda rough but joining gives me a reason to quit and something to look forward to. Also I’m not sure what id major in so itll give me time to think about it.

Have you already taken your oath yet? If you just want the benefits, join the Coast Guard instead of the Army(stay close to home not much action except on the beach!). I don’t think now is a good time to go in with the present Commander and Chief at the helm. But it’s your life and your decision to make. Good luck whichever path you choose.

Meh, good luck. It pays for college, other benefits as well. It’ll suck when we enter WW3, but maybe you’ll be out by then.

Im from New York. I havent taken my oath yet but im in the process of making my contract. I plan on doing a 3 year contract and if all goes well I will re enlist myself after a year.

Obama recently announced he’s going to try and get the troops home by August of next year so I guess we’ll see you again sometime in 2012.
