Me and ChaosMaestro were just discussing the choices we make that sets us apart from the general populace.
I don’t know anyone off RE IRL, but I don’t think that your average Joe comes here, I also think that the average IQ of the active RE members would be higher than the general populace in England/America, but thats a whole other thread.
This could vary greatly on where the sample of "Most People" is taken from. So results will greatly vary.
Chaos’ Examples:
-People want laptops, i want desktop .
-At 17 people want cars, I want a 125cc motorbike .
-People want beer, I want jagermeister.
-People go to download, i go to the bulldog bash .
My Examples:
-People want Alcopops, I want Beer and Whiskey.
-People smoke Cigarettes, I smoke Marijuana.
-People like Rap/R&B, I like Ska.
-People envy Macs and see them as being the best computer system available, I wouldn’t refuse a mac if I was offered one for free, but for the money give me a mid specced PC for Linux and XP for the same price.

some of my examples go by stuff you can do at certain ages in the UK, IE. at 17 here you can get a car and a bike up to 125cc.
-people want a scooter, i want a bike
-people want extravagant fashion, i want minimalist but up-to-date apparel
-people want to look up to something, i want things done my way
-people want the best, i want something that works
-people want the latest for their Wii, Xbox360 and PS3, I happily settle down with my Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and PS1 some evenings
-people love Rap/R’nB/Drum’n’Bass etc, I love heavy metal (i’m one hell of a black sheep at school)
-people have elaborate social networking profiles, I visit my ancient bebo account once a month whenever someone comments or messages me.
-people want things done for them by someone else, I look out for myself solving problems with trial and error (my theory of relying on no one else to solve your problems again).

The Social networking one reminds me.
People have accounts on every networking site with their life story and every picture they have ever took. I have a facebook account with a few pictures of me and some of my animals. No nonsense. :P

I wanted a desktop instead of a laptop, and I got a new desktop a while ago. I already have a cheap car, and as for beer/jag, I don’t drink, and for that last part, I don’t understand what you mean.

Once again, I don’t drink or smoke. I like both R&B/Rap and Ska. I don’t envy Macs and I refuse to use any other product of theirs except for maybe a Macbook.

-I’ve used Macs, and they work just fine, so it doesn’t matter to me. If I got one, I could sell it and buy a laptop and a desktop though.

I have three pictures. Two you can’t see my face, one was during Halloween two years ago and I have my face painted.

I’ve always been a laptop man up until recently, my laptop is being gay and as I have a massive TV which would make a great monitor, I decided I’d go for a desktop. If it wasn’t for the TV, I’d go for another laptop.
I don’t drink whisky, don’t like R&B, and would rather XP than a mac.
