Make headphones that actually won’t break when you pull the cord...

yeah, make them durable, you could make headphones that have different "faceplates" i guess you could say, like the the big dj’s headphones but the piece tht covers your ear could have removable plates with different designs, colors, name brands, etc.

I actually have them designed and ready to produce, I’m just looking for original ways to target teens.

you got to come up with some good advertisements, facebook myspace, I’m sure a lot of people on RE would but a pair to support this, and word of mouth from all of us at RE

Thanks, I’m not expecting or encouraging it, but i appreciate the gesture.
I’m just looking for some original marketing ideas, and I figured who better to ask then the teens themselves?

a good idea is to not spam all the sites you can with online ads, that is just annoying. Marketing is the most successful when you use new, original ways of getting the product name out. If i were to market headphones to teens, I wouldn’t follow the same techniques that every other brand was using. I would try to get my product out by using unique methods. For example, you could drive around in a car with your ad on the side. Better yet, put out a booth at a large store such as walmart.
New marketing ideas usually are not the easiest to execute, but they usually have the best payoff.
Just try some new way of getting your product out. People are drawn to the new and exiting, not the old and familiar.

How about sending some to magazines and websites that review these kind of things? If you get a good review out there the people that read it might buy. People generally read reviews because they are looking to buy something.
You could maybe try and get advertisements printed in technology/music magazines.

Advertise in magazines, the internet, newspapers.
A great way to start off is to use bait. Offer 30% off sales to start. "Opening prices".
You want reviews, and you want the word spread. In local newspapers, advertise.
Don’t senslesly advertise though, make sure it will work, research.
The worst thing you can do is spend $1000 on an ad, and only make $50 in profits.
Find markets to advertise on such as Facebook & Myspace.
Try making a twitter account, and post "tips & free things" on it. You will get many followers, its free and they will spend the word of mouth.
Make sure there not cheap quality.
I hope that gave some ideas.

Stand on a corner and give first time customers a free sample.
They always come back...

Sorry, but you really can’t be making assumptions of what RE does when you have only been here a week or two.
Advertize in magazines that are commonly read by teens. Think Seventeen for girls, or car, gun, game, and music magazines for boys. Try to make it really stand out and be visually appealing. And use words that get the idea across, like ’Loud’ ’Durable’ or ’Cheap’

Make the little speaker covers out of some hardass material, so they’re unbreakable. Seriously, just good headphones in tough cases.
Velvet headphones would be cool.
