Pre-Carter III, Wayne was a fucking monster in the game. When he was 17 and with the Hot Boys, he was dope; and when he went solo, his first few albums were great. Even his mixtapes are awesome -- Da Drought 3 is considered one of the best mixtapes of all time because of Wayne’s use of "similes, liquid non sequiturs, and metaphors."
One of his best songs ever, off the Carter (first one): This is the Carter. Have a listen and tell me what you think.

I just remembered the best line in that song! It’s at the very end.
"And to the kids, drugs kill. I’m acknowledging that. But when I’m on the drugs, I don’t have a problem with that." haha that line always gets me.
