ask Kim Jong Il to kindly stop please?
and yes, the 11 launched in the past few days were short range (SCUD like)
with a range of 310 miles. enough to hit most of south korea.
North Korea HAS launched a missile technically capable of hitting alaska though, so theres that.
combined with the fact that they’re estimated to have enough fissile material for 6.5 bombs, and you can see why people are scared.

Well, you have to understand the effect that Michael Jackson had upon not only the music industry, but the entire world. I’m sure nearly all of us weren’t alive to remember the early ’80s when Michael was king. He was THE biggest star in the world. Everyone was playing his songs, trying to learn his revolutionary dance moves. In terms of worldwide recognition and popularity, MJ is up there with Elvis and the Beatles.
In Ethiopia, some natives still cling to the idea that playing the song "Thriller" will resurrect the dead (because of the music video, I guess they took it literally). My Ethiopian friend told me this, because I was hanging out with him when his cousin called him in tears, telling him that Michael died. To a lot of people, Michael wasn’t just a musician but a god. And therein lies the prominence given to coverage of the death of one of the greatest musicians to ever live.

Please. You’re a dumbass if you think North Korea has a), the capacity to reach the mainland of the U.S. with their missiles and b) the stupidity to launch even one missile near us or our allies lest their whole country be turned into a parking lot.

We do have the technology to track and take down an incoming missile, but it’s not really guaranteed.

We have some sort of missile alert system the last time I checked (which to be honest was probably a few years ago). There isn’t any type of satellite to shoot missiles down. There are units that can shoot missiles down when they are closer to the ground but if they launch nukes this doesn’t really matter.
North Korea could attack South Korea and there are quite a few US troops stationed there and I think they have missiles capable of hitting Hawaii.
And yes, they are that stupid. Kim Jong II could very easily snap and launch some shit our way. He doesn’t seem to be the most stable leader.
And I think there are two reason’s MJ is featured heavily on the news. For one, he was innovative and popular and blah blah blah. Second, nobody wants to hear about how people could blow up and get nuked and shit. They’d rather hear about the tragic death of a pop star than the scary ass world we actually live in. The news is great at feeding the people what they want to hear (considering what they want to hear about will garner higher ratings than what they want to ignore).

North Korea is fighting out of its weight, China and Russia have both told them to knock it off...and for good reason, if they could hit us they sure as shit could hit them.
As for the news...well, MJ’s death did impact the world...and until someone decides to do soemthing to North Korea that’s what they’ll talk about

I thought they had missiles that could reach our coast...
But, anyways, we have lasers mounted on planes that can melt through a freaking heavy main battle tank, we should be able to take down some sheet metal with it, the fallout is what the issue is, im guessing.
A while back I had an idea about a short-range EMP mounted on a single jet, jet flies up, deploys EMP, nukes targeting system and engine fails, detonation highly improbable. Pilot than ejects.
No idea how feasible that would be though.
And yes, Michael Jackson is dead, get over it. It doesnt need to be on the news every 17 minutes.

They could probably do that with some type of UAV but I don’t know what exactly is required to create an EMP. That equipment may not fit in a UAV.
