The Most Unanticipated Release Of 2009 You’ve Never Heard Of...

Sep Seven’s "Simply Logic [EP]"!

The Digital Download .RAR File

The Digital Download .Zip File

I’m already nervous as hell releasing this just due to all the criticism/hate I’m bound to receive for it, but it’s just an experiment so far.

I’ll leave it up to the members of RE to let me know what they think of it, whether they agree with my friends that I have talent as a writer or lyrically, or whether I should stick to making beats for up and coming rap artists.

Either way, I am looking forward to any feedback.

Also, feel free to share it with anyone and everyone you please!

Also, Thank You to the following people...

DamnBastard for using his Photoshop skills to edit the pictures for the Front and Back covers and making them look badass.
Po for letting me use his painting for the front album cover, which I am still fairly interested in buying the original if I’m able to.
Verizoff for letting me use two of the pictures he took of the fireworks in his town of the Fourth Of July.

I appreciate everything.

I’ll be keeping this updated very frequently, just as an F.Y.I. for anyone coming in this thread if they’re going to bitch about constant updates. This is realy why Weasel needs an edit button...

Anyway, I realized that I forgot another huge shoutout that goes up there with the bosses above that made possible certain aspects of the EP, and one of the contributions is the murder of dudes I’d like to refer to as

Death Bro. Records:
Nate Higgers (Teh1337)
Father Marcus (TheAlbinoEthiopian)

hopefully they have some stuff coming out soon. They’ve alreay got song concepts that are loads funnier than mine, so be sure to check them out whenever they release their beats, or full songs, or whatever they plan on releasing. Who knows? Maybe if I’m lucky we can get some kind of collaboration on another digital download sometime in the near future!

I don’t know why, but that made me smile like a goofy bastard.

Thanks in advance for anyone who spends the time to check out my music too! I know you’ve got better things to do on the internet such as troll any *Chan, fap, torrent better music, etc.

Another quick thing. I figured that I’d make the album a "Pay What You Want" type deal, where it’s released for free, but I made a button for Paypal donations, and sure enough, the tag won’t work on any social networking site I’ve tried. I just figured I’d do it if people actually thought my music was worth somethng, they could give anything they were willing to spare for me to help put toward future recording equipment, etc., but if they decide it’s complete shit, or only like it enough to download/torrent, that’s cool with me. It’s the reason I released like this (as a digital download) in the first place.

Anyway, here’s the link for donations. Remember, this is only if you’re able and willing to do so, but I appreciate it very much if you are able to/do so. If not, you’re still cool, and I hope you enjoy some free music!

Haha man, good stuff. It’s going on the ipod and that’s saying something because i’ve only got about 500mb left on my 30gig.

I know you’d like some comments too other than "that’s tight man" so here it is:
(know that I know nothing/very little about music theory/composition/production, so this is based on my taste; take it or leave it)

The intro might be too much. It all sounds technicallly shound. o fuck im gonna have to finish this tommorow. couched

Yes, that’s why there’s a link for the .Zip Files. All of the song files are MP3’s too.

The style is very low on my list of preferred sounds and, in fact, if someone paid me to listen to it I’d still try find an excuse not to.

Eclectic. That was the first word that came to mind and has continued to be the most fitting description.

Aside from the voices ‘popping’ in the wind sock of the microphone, it all sounded of commercial quality.

If I had to nit pick, I’d mention a seemingly discoordinatorial aspect of the sounds. I’ve heard similar orchestral overtures supporting semi-spoken lyrics and it can be quite effective. … and blah blah…

Oh, repeating fuck several times in an angry song does not make you Eminem. If that was not your intention, then you messed up a bit cos that’s the impression I got.

You are obviously familiar with Animal Collective and you can pick one of their songs. I do not feel the same with this collection – there is no unique sound.

But, after all that, I am impressed and do sincerely appreciate the lead vocal voice – clear and crisp even with the mic pop.

Thanks for sharing it Doopliss.

Colin Fiat.

I’m going to be the first 1 man band with over five instruments (I think). I just need to learn one more instrument. Its either accordion or banjo. Possibly both. And a saw. Then I could be a one man Blackbird Raum cover band.

Is that a good or bad thing?

I’m not quite sure what you mean. I never really had any "spoken word" parts except on the Introduction track, which, if you think it’s cliché, I would probably agree with you on that.

A wise rapper once said, "These days, no one’s going to listen to you spit if you don’t spit it the way they spit it." I only really rcall using a string of the word "Fuck" on "Originality Kills", and that’s because that’s one song where I genuinely wanted to express how upsetting the current state of the commercial and underground music is in general. Sure, a lot of people might casually mention it, but I really wanted to figure out why people bitch so much about it, but there’s few artists actually doing anything to change it.

As much as that disheartens me, I’m glad you said it. It’s really hard to forge a whole new sound in a genre such as Rap without coming off as a "Backpacker" or "Pretentious".

I’m sure you’re referring to the mic popping on the "Fuck You Lucy (Remix)". Yes, that was terrible. I dd that in the middle of a big room, but for some reason, the mic hardly picked up my voice, even when I jacked up the Gain on the microphone, everything still seemed quiet. On top of that, I wasn’t using a Wind/Screen Filter, so when I got very close, not only did I get spit over some of it, but it caused that popping sound, especially on the accented "P" syllables.

Thanks for the comment about the voice though. Believe me, I’m a terrible singer, but my Music Production teacher told me also that he thought I had the natural "FM Radio DJ" voice, which made me laugh.

Thanks though Colin. You’re ne of the few people I can count on to provide brilliant insight on just about anything.

Also, be on the look-out. Well, since you like Animal collective and Jean-Michel André Jarre, my next venture is when I reinstall Pro Tools on my computer, I’m going to experiment with creating an all Electronic(a)/Techno/Various Electronic Subgenre album as well since I bought a Korg Kaossilator not to long ago. At least, that’s what I’m hoping to do.

Last nights attempt to download this went really slowly and then failed close to the end (via Megaupload) so I am now downloading it from Rapidshare and it is going a lot faster.

Looking forward to hearing it, allthough rap is generally not my choice of music.
