no. Old newspapers from the war era are worth money now, because less were made back then.
Think about the HUGE production line for papers now, hundreds of millions would have probably been made

Could be, but I doubt it... It will just be a cool thing to pull out in 30 years when he has kids and he can say "This happened in my lifetime." Its the same as the newspapers that say "Dewey Defeats Truman". I don’t think they’re worth money, but its a cool thing to have to be able to say you had it.

Yeah like myincrediblycreativename said, it might be worth something to him (like emotionally) if he really likes Obama and he’ll be able to share it with his kids/other family members.
Also, as far as I know, there isn’t much of a market for collecting newspapers. Some magazines can be collectible (certain Time and Rolling Stones might be worth some money now) but newspapers generally aren’t for a few reasons.
First, hundreds of libraries are going to have copies of various newspapers from that day.
Second, newspapers are printed on very low quality paper. The odds of him being able to keep it in very good condition for any amount of time are pretty low. They are very susceptible to moisture and sunlight.

I kind of doubt it. Follow along for a moment.
Old baseball cards are worth money because only a small percentage of them survived. Most parents discarded (pun) their childrens’ baseball card collection at some point. As adults, those children were excited by the prospect of obtaining old baseball cards they used to own, and were willing to pay. But now, everyone has dollar signs in their eyes and saves their new baseball cards, and nobody gives a shit.
After that newspaper ceases publication, which is a real possibility these days, that old paper might be worth money. But I reckon there will be a lot of copies being saved. My grandfather saved the newspaper from 1969 after the Apollo moon landing, and my mother has one from the 1981 release of the hostages from the American embassy in Tehran. Hell, I’ve got the final print edition of Weekly World News. I’m not expecting much payoff from any of them.
Now, if there’s an obvious mistake, that would make an otherwise disposable periodical publication more collectable. Don’t they hire editors anymore?

My parents read newspapers and I always ask them to give me their discarded papers because I have a lot of pet birds. Not too long ago they gave me stacks and stacks of really old newspapers. I was tearing some of them up one day and saw that it was a newspapear from when the space shuttle exploded. I started looking and found others, including one from when Robert Kennedy was assassinated. Obviously Mom and Dad thought that those papers would be of interest to someone or worth some money some day, but then gave up and got rid of them. It’s really just junk.
I checked them out for a few minutes and then tore them up anyway. Keeping stuff like that around is almost always a bad idea unless--as noted above--it’s purely for sentimental value or interest. xoxo

I agree with the majority, there would have been billions printed, and millions saved by people who think it might be worth money someday, which would make it worth... nothing.

JFK assassination Oklahoma paper worth $24.
I would say in 100 years when someone finds a newspaper like that stuffed in an old trunk in an attic then it will be worth something but who wants to purposefully drag that stuff around? Most people move around... are they going to lug it around with them? Are they going to pay for storage on in? Make a papier mache dragon instead. Way cooler.
**Pets her secret stash of newspapers that will be worth millions one day... millions because everyone else threw theirs away. Then they’ll all see this newspaper maze in my house will be totally worth it!**

Actually, I have a newspaper I saved from June 2002. Perhaps Scarlett remembers this incident... some poor fellow lost his home in a fire. They showed a picture of him (long face and all) wearing a pair of cutoff jeans and one of his testicles was hanging out. Yes, this made the cover of the Rocky Mountain News! Ha! I happened to get delivery at the time and saved it. LMAO. Not laughing at the guy of course. What happened to him was doubly tragic.
