So recently my brother dragged the source of a picture to our desktop and what do you know? It made a white square and I’ve tried everything i could to delete it. I have tried deleting the picture, yet i found it nowhere. Searched every single document in my whole computer while not coming up with anything. The document was called:
"file:///c:/documents and settings/owner/desktop////////SHIT/3.jpg" yet i see no shit that’s relevant to what I’m trying to do. I know because I’ve deleted every single file name labeled "Shit" on my computer.
I have come to RE and all of its members computer knowledge to see if anybody, ANYBODY could help me solve this problem. What will you get? 10k Egg Points to the group of your choice, and 5*s.
That’s what my regular Desktop looks like. The icons were over on the white square but i moved them so RE can see it better.
What happens when you right-Click the square. I’ve gone through everything on this ’Sum-Bitch’ Yet couldn’t find a way to delete it.
What happens when you click the Properties menu after Right-Clicking.
What the Pop-up menu of Encoding is after hovering over it.
Rotteneggers, I will be eternally grateful if you provide the information for me fixing my desktop. It’s probably an easy solution for many of you, so thank iBmx for the free 10k.[b]

Have you made sure it’s plugged in? Turned on? Tried switching it off and on again?
But srsly... have you tried changing the desktop background?
Clicked refresh on the right click menu?
The white square seems to be acting like a web-page with that right click menu, a blank web page embeded in your desktop. Have you clicked view source? My guess is it’ll just be [img src="3.jpg">
When you say he dragged the source of a picture, what exactly do you mean?
It’s pretty wierd... hmmm...

Actually... try going to Control Panel->Display->Desktop, and choose "Customize Desktop". Then click the Web tab. If there are any entries there, delete them (or at least uncheck the little tick box).
I think that might be your solution, let me know if it works (or if it doesn’t)!

I didn’t notice you’d already posted, I took the screen before hand, then went to do other stuff, then came back. Anyway, that might be the issue.

I’m sorry to be an asshole and contribute absolutely nothing (as usual), but I actually find that to be a pretty funny problem. It’s just a white square that won’t go away.. Lol. It actually made me smile. :D

Good idea! Who wants to see an egg on how to put a white square on someones desktop with any message you want inside? Would be a bugger for some people to remove, they might have to go on a message board and ask for help about their "Desktop Problem!" :P
