Here in good old liberal Maryland, we get pulled out of school and detention for that. My freshman year someone wore a Confederate flag and when he refused to take it off almost got suspended.
A few years before my time someone who visited England over the summer wore a shirt with the Union Jack on it that they brought back with them. A black teacher mistook it as a Confederate flag, flipped out, and sent the kid to the office. The scary part is that teacher taught history.

When I went to high school, I wore a confederate flag on the back of my jacket and had a shotgun in the rear window of my pick up truck.
There never was any trouble about it and sometimes the principle would come out to the parking lot for a smoke, and he would ask some of us about hunting and stuff.
I would show him pics of some of the game that I had caught.
Those days are long gone, a much simpler America my friends.

funny you mention that; A few weeks ago, a kid had a confederate flag on his truck and refused to take it down. It actually got on the Channel 4 news. Anyway, the kid finally gave. Now he has the american and the confederate flag on his truck. I guess they thought that was a good compromise.

You shouldn’t have to take off a confederate flag

It’s also associated with separatism and the independence of each state. And pride of a Southern heritage.

it’s also associated with the fucking heritage of the South Where I LIVE
It should not be automatically considered a symbol of racism, unless someone acts on it. If you are simply waving a confederate flag or have one on a shirt.. What... Theee... Mutherfuck is it hurting?
nothing

Everybody at my school who has some Confederate Flag plastered somewhere on there clothes, or truck claims it’s just heritage. They’re clearly racist though.
God damn I hate the South.

I know it sucks. The ones who display it in public are generally racist. The non-racist have confederate stuff in their house and don’t need to boast

Why do people always instantly associate "White Power" with racism/neo-nazis but when there is a group of black people waving ’black power’ banners with pictures of Martin Luther King (or similar) nothing is said?
