ok, so first i had a little amp rigged through the headphones to a bigger amp because i like the sound. so i rigged the bigger amp up to my crate via the headphones also-this sounded awesome. (note that i used a switch box cord to hook the bigger one to the crate.) well i unplugged the switch cord from the peavey(bigger amp) and i discovered that the crate was somehow still playing! its fucking wierd, nothings hooked up to the crate except the switch cord which is hooked into nothing.
so i put the cord next to my guitar (wrapped it around the shoulder strap) and it put out a relatively clear sound. how the fuck is it doing that? is the switch cord acting as a pickup or something? how the fuck would it do this? and no im not trippin or something, this is really happening.
a diagram:
if anybody knows how the fuck this is working, please tell me. lol its kewl

Could be acting as a pickup, that is odd though.
The lead could be acting as an antenna too.

thats the wierd thing, theres nothing else connected to the amp but a switch cord. however i did try it with just the crate on and it didnt do it, so obviously it only does it when the peavey backstage pluse amp and the rock town model 20 amp are on. this would definitely be cool for a show, though.

That sounds about right.
My logitech speakers pick up CB radio signals randomly some evenings
I’ve had what sounds like police and then general people chatting
and they are only plugged into the wall.
so yeah maybe its picking up the sound signals somehow :o

I agree with the antenna / pickup theory.
I’ve heard weird stuff too coming from my friend’s amp.
Just never know whats out there.

yea. when i hook up my wah pedal it’ll pick up am signals and walkie talkie shit every now and then. but i tried to see if the wierd thing would work when i hooked up the wah pedal, and sadly it did not.
wait a minute, i just realized something, my crate is plugged into the same outlet that my doorbell (yes i have a doorbell to my room lol) is plugged into. and the button is right outside my door, and the other two smaller amps and relatively close to it.
nope, nevermind. unplugged the receiver and it still worked.
