"old" video game.
Old being a pretty loose term.
I gotta go with Goldeneye for N64

Anything with Mario in it is automatic win. The sports ones, the platformers, the RPGs, they’re all great. I have loved every one. Even that Olympics game looks kind of fun.
I’m pretty sure I have the ROM for every Mario game on NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, and N64. Only ones I don’t is Gamecube and Wii, for obvious reasons.

I used to have a Wii.
Mario Galaxy was amazing,
But that was the only game I liked.
So I sold it for a Xbox360

Mario Galaxy is pretty much the only reason to have a Wii.

We had an Atari system when I was in high school. My sisters were always on it playing Pac-Man. I liked Super Breakout but never really got a chance to get good at it or hooked on it because they just had it going constantly. They had a whole bunch of games--what’s that one where the guy swings on vines and jumps over alligators...? I can’t remember.
The first video game I ever got hooked on was called "Leisure Suit Larry" for PC. It was one of those multiple-choice text games. This was back in the early 1990s; it was installed on a PC I had at work. I would think of an excuse to "work" late so me and my boyfriend at the time could sit and play this game while the office was empty.
Then: Lemmings for PC. I actually found Lemmings 2 for PC on Limewire a few years ago and installed it. I don’t play it because it’s too frustrating; one of those games that’s impossible to win.
Me and my bf never owned a TV until he got a Sega. He played the original Sonic to the end. I was sort of hooked on Tetris for awhile; I also have an arcade version of that on this machine but I never play it. He got a Playstation after that and played Resident Evil a lot but by that point I was only watching and every so often helping out with suggestions when he was stuck. (Remember the original version of RE with the REALLY BAD voice acting...?) Also he was hooked on Silent Hill for a very long time.
Work is my favorite game now! :P

Oh that’s right: Bomberman. That’s a good one. I used to like to play Bust-A-Move on the PS too.
And yeah, that was Pitfall. I never made it past the alligators/crocodiles.
If you want a game that will totally drive you batshit crazy, I do heartily recommend Lemmings2.

When I think about Sonic I can still hear the music and that "dling-dling-dling" sound of him grabbing those fucking rings. I think it burned a hole in my brain or something.

I forgot to say the game Scarlett is talking about with the guy swinging on vines over alligators is called Pitfall. I’ve got it but I’ve never been too fond of it.
And yeah, Breakout is awesome.
I think I’ll dig out my Atari and try to remember how to tune a TV.

My sisters had like 1000 games for that Atari. I’m sure that Mom probably sold it and all the carts at a garage sale for $10 at some point, which is a shame. I know collectors pay big bucks for those things now.
Before video games my sisters would get into these screaming fights and sometimes try to pull each others’ hair out, gouge each others’ eyes out, etc. After video games the home was relatively peaceful.
Nobody can ever tell me that video games are NOT a great adjunct to raising children, at least from my point of view.
Of course, I still ran away at age 16 anyway. I’d had quite enough of that shit by then. Call me old-fashioned, but that classic game "drop a hit of windowpane and listen to jazz for 24 hours straight while watching the walls breathe" was always more interesting.
