I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM. And my uTorrent speeds suck now, when I was using XP I have average speeds of 3-4Mb/s and now I bearly get 600Kb/s.

Has anyone else has this problem and fixed it? I have my ports forwared and everything, and firewall is off.
It’s just something with windows 7

uTorrent 2.0 is coming out soon, that should fix your compatibility problem.

Also, they make Utorrent in 64bit?

You’re complaining with 600Kb/s?

That’s shit compared to 3-4Mb/s, but it’s still really good.

I’m running the 32bit uTorrent through the emulator thing built into 7.

And do you think I Should install the uTorrent 2.0 beta? I think I seen somewhere where I’d be able to get it.

Im using uTorrent on Windows 7 (I’m still on my pre-release version, havent got round to upgrading the retail version yet) running version 1.8.3

It’s asking me to upgrade to 1.8.4 Build 16688 but I havent done that yet.

I dont have it running in any compatibility mode, and am running the 64 (x86) bit version. Why do you have 32 bit if you’ve got a 64 bit processor?

I can’t comment on the speed as I dont torrent much and my internet provider has capped my bandwidth to 512kbps during peak times. Even before it was capped I got really excited if torrent download speeds got up to about 200kbps.

I was downloading an album or two the other night and trying to watch something on youtube. The download was crawling, and the youtube video kept having to buffer. I paused the downloads and resumed them after midnight, and they downloaded pretty quickly, maybe about 200knps then.

Sorry I cant really be of any specific help, just thought Id share that.

I have the RC of 7 and it works fine. You sure your ports are correctly forwarded?

You might want to consider resetting your router, I know not the best and technical way to do it, but for me it works when I lose speed for no reason at all. My router also retains all the information that I put into it such as port information and firewall information, so you might want to check that before going down that route. (Just unplug for XX amount of seconds and then it will)

^I agree with trying that. Sometimes my downloads slow to a crawl so I reset my browser and it corrects that.

Lol, 600kps?
Maximum I can get on my connection is 170kbps, And that is considered good (for me).
Average I get is 40-90kbps.

A tenner a month for 8meg? shit son! I’ pay over 35 for either 6 or 8 meg (not that it gives me that since I got capped for abusing the unlimited fair usage policy!) That does include my line rental though.

My speakeasy test shows I get 30495kbps download and 5047kbps upload.

So my speed is 30Megabytes? I used to be happy when my downloads would reach 1.1Mb/s but since that openbittorrent thing got started on WinXP I get average 2-3Mb/s.

I’ve turned off windows firewall in 7 and forwarded my ports through the firewall and my router, and I still get a port error when I use the built in checker with uTorrent.

I’ve upgraded to 2.0beta and my speeds have went up a little, but nothing like before.

I can’t figure out how to turn the firewall completely off in 7, that has to be the problem. WinXP downloaded fine.

How do I turn it off for domain profile?

Double Post.

So I’ve just got done disable the domain firewall, and uTorrent port checker checks out and it seems to be open, I have the green check mark in uTorrent and my speeds are back to almost normal.

I have a cap of 200GB a month, if I go past that limit its like $10 for extra for every GB, and if I go over it more than once I get disconnected.
