Moderators: state who you banned, how long you banned them for, why you banned them, and then any side notes that you may want to add.

you can use your ban time to familiarize yourself with our forum rules
Criteria for non-moderator posts
We do not want this thread to fill up with useless and space wasting posts just like our past Ban and Warning threads. Posts made by non-moderators are allowed, but they they should follow the criteria outlined in the about me section of The Henchman’s profile. People who do not follow the criteria will be blocked from being able to post in this thread any longer.

I posted this thread on an alternate account so that I can block people who do not follow the criteria outlined in the de5cription of the Henchman’s profile.
You may post in this thread to report rule breakers if it is an urgent matter. Otherwise, it would be appreciated if you just sent a PM directly to a moderator or admin.

Mods: Be sure to post a listing in this thread for all bans. A ban with no listing may be lifted upon the banned person’s request (exceptions would include an obvious spammer).
We have always left bans open for discussion. Lets keep it that way.
Also; Be sure to only ban people for breaking actual written rules. The rules were written and agreed upon to control the moderators just as much as to control the normal members.

being retarded is not against the rules Rambo. And for somthing to be considered Spamming, it usually requires a fair ammount of bitching from other members and a few ban requests also.
please consider the of this rant as hypothetical, not personal.
Try to avoid using the word "spam" for every little thing. The people here are too quick to holler spam.
We made the rules so that people would get banned for breaking them. If somebody doesn’t break a specific rule then they should not get banned. You can’t go around banning people just because they annoy you with 1 or 2 topics.
you have to consider whether your moderator actions are making this website a more entertaining place to visit, or if they are just an attempt to rule with an iron fist. We should mod to make the forums more enjoyable, not to make them perfect in every single way. If you go around banning the fuck out of people for stupid little reasons then this website is going to suck. you should be moderating at a bare minumum. only ban when you really need to teach somebody a lesson, and most of the time that only requires a very short ban. Much of the time the member’s verbal bashings are good enough punishment when somebody makes a stupid topic or W/E. A verbal bashing is always more fun then banning somebody.

I know why he is banned and I don’t agree with it one single bit. It was unfair and doesn’t follow the list of ban reasons or precedent that the other mods and I have set ever since the asshole mods were stripped of powers.
you can’t argue with somebody and then tell them that if they keep arguing they will get banned. That is a pretty childish and unfair thing to do. Your moderator powers are not a tool for getting the last word in on arguments.
we will go by the rules outlined in the thread made by me. That is what we (the site) has agreed on. If you have a problem with that then you should have said something when I asked for input about the remaking of the forum rules.
we have never followed the forum faq, ever. and I don’t plan on following it now. we have always had an unspoken agreement with weasel that it is ok for us to go by our own rules as long as they keep things in line.
you need to learn how to be more humble with your mod powers. If you are angry with somebody then just ignore them. the last thing you should do is make moderator decisions while you are pissed off. I learned that the hard way and I went through a lot of shit in the process.

He kept demanding to provide a link to where I got that rule from, and i kept telling him I had quoted weasel right out of the fucking faq, whether you go by it or not

well ban yourself rambo because you egged him on and flamed just as much as he did. if you really had a problem with his defamitory remarks the you should have just ignored him or banned him the first time he said something out of line.
the site as a whole agreed to follow a different set of rules then the horeshit that weasel setout to begin with. we have been doing just fine following the rules that I made.
