In my english class I’m doing a debate on censorship and media violence. This being movies, music, TV and video games!
I am anti censorship because my family raised me with the "right and wrong" Talk, and now being almost 20 I can play a violent game like GTA or watch a murder gorefest movie and not be influenced to go kill someone.......
I believe it all goes down on the parents to raise and show their kids what is right and wrong and that we have been a very violent country since the brits came and enslaved indians and shit.....wars, fights, gangs, cops in general are violent...ya this world is a shitty violent place....well at least america is.....
Did you know in the year 1987 there were 5 deaths relating to guns in canada, about 40 in tokyo and 7 in England....yet there was over 8000 in america...ya....
so what is your position? Should we censor everything and sugar coat the media which is a dirty and violent horrible place? Or should parents actually TEACH their kids about right and wrong and TRUTH instead of parking them in front of the tv?

It’s not about the media, it’s about the bad parents. They don’t know how to raise kids and when the kids do something stupid, shit that I likes gets blamed! That’s probably the only reason I would support abortion.

Yes, the last time I got "beat" was in either 3rd or 6th grade. Fuck time out. I never got that and I’m glad I didn’t. Time outs only promote angstness.

I agree with ATL. It’s the problem of the parents and not putting a limit on what their kids are doing. I don’t see why all these mindless fucks like Dr. Phil and other daytime talk show faggots try to argue that the media keeps producing "bad" things. I mean, some of the stuff on the news is worse then stuff I’ve seen in video games.

sometimes I wish I was beat, then I dont. In the long run, its much better, but at the time, it fucking hurts. At school, people would punch me if I said something they dont like, and I didn’t do it again. Same thing should be in peoples homes. If the kid fucks up, warn him, next time beat the shit outa him. It works, good.

ive played with 1 too many 9 year olds playing "m" games on xbox live cussing the whole time

It’s not that dumb. It’s their way of parenting and if it works for them, let them be.
It might not be the best way to raise a child, but it will work to an extent and it’s better than doing nothing.

violence in the media doens’t make people violent, if you are hard wired enough to kill someone then it doesn’t matter if you watch Sesame Street or Saw because that has nothing to do with what you are about do, unless you dress up like Big Bird before killing everyone

tbh i think that kid that do bad thing do them because they are succeptible and easily influenced but if tv was censored then they would just be influenced by other things such as other kids. and also their limited knowledge of right and wrong due to the sugar coated version of reality that they would be presented if tv was censored
