wheel, cuz it hasnt become obsolete yet. fire went obsolete when lightbulbs and microwaves were invented. til we get hovercars, wheel is still in use.

How the fluck do you think the car gets power? By using magic balls? The Flintstones is not the greatest educational resource, you know.

Oh and historians think that the wheel was discovered whne people saw how dung beetles took peaces of sh|t, rolled them up into balls, and walked on them to roll them along. So, neither is an invention. It’s obvious that somebody would notice this kind of thing before they’d set out one day to randomly ball up some twigs.

Why are people picking the wheel? It makes no sense. Fire helps us cook food (in fact it is nessasary to live in many regions), heat ourselves, fashion shelter and weapons, etc. What did the wheel do? Transportation? Right. Big deal. Not to mention you also need domesticated animals to make good use of wheels, which stems from fire again. Many of the world’s most advanced civilization did not make use of the wheel. For example, the Aztecs (who, at the peak of their power in the 16th century, had the world’s 3rd biggest city, although nobody else knew) had wheels for toys, but did not use them for large-scale uses. Why? Their civilization was not optimized for it. Yes, we need wheels today to move around properly. But without the discovery of fire, the car would not have been manufactured (smithing steel and iron needs fire), and you couldn’t power it, either (no combustion engine...). Fire is so vital to us, with wheels being only a minor use. Case closed. that’s why I’m right.

As much a I’d like to say fire, and as tough a choice this is, I would have to go with the wheel. Without the wheel we wouldn’t have any form of transportation (cars, vans, planes, even boats and hovercrafts [propellers]). We wouldn’t have any engines, thus, no power. No computers, no cd’s, or disks, because they all use something round.
On the other hand, without fire....

By definition, you can’t ’invent’ fire. However, the production of early coper and bronze weapons is considered an ’invention’, even though the raw materials needed to be processed. Fire is the same thing, simply harnessing the raw materials to create something greater.
