This is a sad country we live in where classics such as oldschool ww2 era Looney Toons and Diseny cartoons are being labbled "banned" and won’t be played on television. Why is that? Because they aren’t correctly PC and some people get offended because of themes or certain elements. So fucking what? Those cartoons were made in a different time, the same rules don’t apply. Those cartoons, stupid as they were at certain points, are an American legacy...so what if speedy is an insult to Spanish-Americans?
On a further rant how many of you remember what Saturday Morning used to be beofre Congress stepped in and said that msot of the cartoons were just pointless comercials and were gonna inforce sanctions against anything that wasn’t "educational" causes all the networks but Fox to cut their Saturday morning line up, and even then Fox isn’t what it was.

the fucking worst thing was how nickelodeon blamed 9-11 on Invader Zim and then tore up Vasquez’s contract.
Now they only show heavily edited reruns, which completely eliminate all the subliminal funnies.

yes and they blammed Tom Clancy’s Executive Orders for it also....but yeah thats what I mean, they are ruining the cartoons out there. There are only a few even worth watching

Wasn’t it because Walt Disney created them with anti-jewish propaganda? Like with nazi symbolism and stuff.
But I do agree with you this time GMT. I haven’t watched cartoons in about a year or so because they are all fitted to the standards of the pmsing people of the NTSC. God. People these days are boycotting and blaming ANYTHING on tv just to get a couple dollars, or because it is "unhealthy". I am starting to dislike USA more and more because of these things.

yeah I heard that, but I don’t think Disney was a Nazi. Those cartoons did reflect the predjudices of their time but i think banning them completely is the wrong way to deal with it

The cartoons are aimed at children and children are very impressionable. But I agree, children’s TV is utter shit. Whenever I walk through the living room and my sister watching Niggerlodian its always some bullshit show about angsty middle schoolers who are dealing with shit I never even heard of happening ins some mellow dramatical way. Yeah, parents leave their 12 year old alone on the weekend and they throw massive parties with strobe lights and streamers and everyone is drinking pepsi while Tommy and Mellisa are dealing with the drama of Tommy breaking up with Britteny 2 weeks ago. It makes me want to throw up, wheres the violence and low grade humor? Your making generations of annoying girls and guys who will grow up to have no balls.

That’s true slash. Nickelodian has become like a fucking drama reality show rather than a cartoon show. Drake and josh? Wtf? How is that fun? There is rarely violence now. I mean seriously, they are teaching girls how to become whores and typical, and teaching guys retarded unnecessary things.

Children’s T.V. blows. End of story. It’s not that it wasn’t more violent when we were kids, it’s just their was more dark humor and a lot of adult sarcasm and such, we wer ejust to young to realize. Last Summer Danglin and I watched The Angry Beavers marathon on T.V. I realized then how much adult sarcasm was on that show and such.
Also, people are STILL complaining about shows like spongebob today, saying that it promotes homsexuality. It figures the hardcore Christians would be behind stating that fact.
I hate how people in society try to interpret things in a bad way, just to make themselves happy and to get rid of things/make people angry.

Yeah Doopliss I agree with you completely. Nowadays people are attempting to define what’s right and wrong. Especially religion. They are attempting to take control of everything, like they used to back in the days. Where church controlled state. I don’t understand much of the point in this. But I will not stand here and allow it.

don’t even get me started on Wiggalodeon, the only decent cartoons on it are fairly odd parents and sponge bob...and even they aren’t what used to be on. The sad thing is that they are banned the good shit and they aren’t replaced it with anything new

Some of us can’t afford Digital Cable. And only some basic cable stations provide certain channels. But either way, it’s not the same not being on the main channel.

Either way! What is being fed to us now is all filtered through the "acceptable filter". I remember cartoons really used to be good! But I can’t believe that people always have to bitch and moan about SOMETHING. Always! I am not sure if there is a way for us to stop them. I mean, honestly, with all the shit that is happening in the world, how can we NOT blame tv? That’s what everybody is being fed to believe right now.
