OK, I’m gonna get either an iPod or a Zune for Christmas from my parents. (They essentially said, your limit is $400, you choose what you want)
My question is, which is better in the RE’s communities opinion? I think personally I am already leaning toward the Zune, just because I really hate Apple and I don’t want to use iTunes.
Also, the Zune has that whole sending music between Zunes feature, not that I will really use it, but still. Another thing is the Wi-Fi, I won’t use it often, but the iPod doesn’t have it.
I don’t really give a crap about the gargantuan hard drive of the iPod, because, well I’ll never use 80 gigs of space.
Well, I guess what I am really saying is that I am pretty much leaning way over towards the Zune, and I’m just looking for the cons of it, that I don’t already know about.
Anyone got any opinions on this besides just "Apple sucks" or something like that?

Really? That sucks, well like I said, I probably wouldn’t really ever use it. I only have 2 friends that have Zunes, and I don’t really talk to them that much.

Dude buy an iPod. iPods for the win, definatly! I just bought myself an iPod Nano 2Gb. Slim and awesome.
If your limit is $400, buy an iPod Video 30GB, as they’re about $397 or something around under 400 in shops (even cheaper on eBay I’d say). You can watch videos/ripped movies dvds shows, etc. They’re fucking awesome and if I had the cash at the time of buying an iPod, I’d have went for the 30gb/60gb video. I settled for the Nano. You can also buy iPod Video Nano iPods, 8gb for about $325 in shops down here. But if your going for video, go for the big ones, cuz u get like 30 more gbs for only about $50 extra.

iPod touch 16GB. I am fairly sure you can get them under $400 in America, and they have WiFi, and tons of stuff.
Another thing is the 3rd party apps for it, One visit to a site on an iPod touch and your possibilities are endless.

Oh sorry, I meant it more as like iPod Video vs Zune. 16 Gigs isn’t enough for me. I need at least 20, I have 15 gigs of music, 2 gigs of videos, 1 gig pictures. And I would still want room to expand.

No offense DamnBastard because I think you’re cool and all, but I hope you don’t tend to believe all the fucking bullshit you hear in your life, and I hope you try to look up background information on wha tyou have heard.
The songs on Zunes last all the time. The only time a song goes away is if you’re sending it back and forth for a friend to hear wirelessly. And that would be registered by the "Inbox" section under the "Community" area on the Zune.
I just get really mad when people always bring up that shitty claim but then they don’t even know the full in-depth about it.

You should probably get a 30 gig Zune if you’re looking to expand. Sure, it doesn’t have the "Touch" feature scrolling (and it’s not touch-screen, but a touch pad thing because they aren’t going to want their products smudgy as shit like Apple) if you don’t want an 80 gig Zune. I was going to buy an 80 gig Zune, but they only come in Black, and I’m content with my 30 gig currently. The 30 gigs are $200 and the 80 gigs are $250 (so average it like $1 per gig if you’re going to buy the 80).

just get a psp...
or get a sansa.. mine is a 2 gig and it works nicely. i shot the damn thing with a bb gun (not airsoft) at point blank and all it did was put a small crack n the screen.

Yea, I think I’m pretty much set on the Zune, if anyone wants to still try to change my mind go ahead, but Apple is gonna have to have some great feature I don’t know about already to change it.

i herd the zune sucks, it can viruses and i heard it deletes your music...i would say go for the ipod touch i just got one 16gb...it might not sound like much space, but there are so many apps that you can download that dont use space including internet, email, weather, stocks, games, instent messaging n a shitload more...sry for the shitty spelling ive been hitting the green

Ff you have $400 buy a 30gb Ipod Video? Wtf? Are you fucking retarded?
If you have $400 buy an 80gb Ipod Classic which is 10 times better than the video, nano, and touch put together. Then, buy a PSP.
If not just buy an Ipod Classic, they’re way better.

I just bought a 80gz Zune off E-bay for $240 and it also had a 2 year warranty for another $30, with shipping it cost me $300 Canadian. I would have bought it from the store as advertised but they only sell they in the United States.
Anyways, as far as the Zune goes it has a larger screen than the Ipod and supports more file types WMV!. The Zune has Wifi, you can connect to other Zune’s and your computer wirelessly. I will find out if its any good when I get it in a few days.

I have an iPod and a zune, but for 400 bucks you can get the Archos 80gb 605
One of my friends has it and it’s fucking awesome.
