FUCKIN A i wish i had brought my digi camera on my hunting trip.
you guys would not believe me if i jsut said it but ill tell you anyway
i WOULD have shitloads of pics if i brought it but nooooo, i forgot at the last second.

okay here
last wednesday i left for elk hunting up jsut north of flagstaff AZ
and i always knew there was old abandonded silos, or even ACTIVE ones up there
well we stopped at my dads freidns house and stayed last saturday night there.
that night i couldnt sleep, so me and josh, my old freind who lived next door up there, went walking
we passed NAU (Northern Arizona University and kept walking up Mt. Humphreys (tallest mountain in AZ, 12, 456 ft.)
we got a bunch of the way up, easily 12:30 now.
we werent THAT far up but still
we found this OLD mine shaft that had been blown to bits. it was layered and covered in gravel and cinders so you couldnt get in. we dug through and not-so-deepily burried was boards, we kicked these and battering rammed them with logs to open them. it was dark as fuck. we got our flashlights we always carry and saw it was a long narrow tunnel. we decided to walk into it and RIGHT then i remembered this forums and wished i had my camera. also i wouldve turned this into an egg. i just might but i ahve no pics:(
anyways
we kept moving, must ahve been 1200 yards into this tunnel and it turned left. we went forther and it was a small aldder going down. it went down about 3 or 4 stories worth, down this round tunnel shute, still dark as a french chicks armpit.
we got to an old duct. we busted it through and we were in this small hallway, with the ladder right in fron of us. we got freaked out now. we wondered where we were. there were 3 doors in this hallway. on at the end of the hall, and 2 on each side, with this duct behind us. we checked the first one, on our right. just an empty office, we rummaged papers and found nothin but geographic maps of the middle east, north america and asain continent, all with symbols and lines and shit and what APPEARED to be trajectory markers.
(surprising they wouldnt have taken these with them...hmm...)
anyway. we found a drawer with some more papers and found names
a certin Major General Bradey and Lueitenant General Stevens were the only names that stood out. they also ahd mroe papers where those 2 names stood ut. next to those names were both Ph.D. markings and physics symbols.
we went back to the hallway and went into the second room. it was COMPLETLY EMPTY except for a peice of paper in the middle of the room with all sorts of markup and code and the words "Flagstaff Site Northern AZ #11098"
we got freaked out from this
we went into the next room and it was anotehr desk room, nothing important here, empty everywhere. remember its dark as fuck, probably 1:45 am now.
there was a staircase however down in the crner of this room, going down, we wnet down and there was anotehr hallway with nothing, but a turn at the end, we turned the right corner and saw a door. we went in.
it went kinda down and had glass doors down there.
we followed it and were scared shitless.
we kept following this hallway and found one last area.
it was an office., but different.
it had panels and controls and keyboards and busted screens.
we were like, WTF!?!?!
launch panels. these were Silo launch panels
we FLIPPed! it was so cool. we then turned the corner into the next room and there was a small window, it was looking into a HUGE cylindrical tube going from 2 stories below us, to 3 stories above us. with round doors at the top. my freind had a disposable GPS locator thingy, so we droppe don here right in front of this Silo window.
there was nothing left so we went up and out.
we followed the signal and found this spot on the ground here the GPS signal was, and it was 3 or 4 stories underground. but we searched the ground and i stepped and heard a CLANNNGGGggggg...
i was liek WTF dude whoa.
we uncovered a little bit of dirt and found the silo doors!
it was so fucking awesome
i wished so bad i had my camera
this was the abandoned Ft. Navajo
Flagstaff AZ missle silo
i was simply amazed the whole time.
and i have confirmed through sources that there are 7 of these staioned around M. Humpreys
but all abandoned

If the missile was still there you could take the warhead out and fiddle around with the explosives... Unless it was a nuke and then well... you could get a large ransom for doing something with that nuke...

we only found 1 silo
though there are bunches around there
it was empty
and if there was a missle in it i wouldnt have fucked with it
im not about to crater-ize 50 miles of northern arizona
