Well, I have got pretty much no friends who are into this kind of music, but they happen to be into the same music I used to be into, and now I am really taking an interest in new metal such as Machine Head and Arch Enemy. I’m looking for some good melodic Metal/Thrash bands that they may quite like. The sort of stuff that have tunes that grab your attention but are heavy. Any suggestions?

Music is like that, true lovers of a genre will love it no matter who ELSE likes it. And the reverse, you can’t force feed music to anyone. Doin’ that will most likely turn them OFF to it.

a good away is to find a unique alias of metal music. that includes or is based around the music they like...
ill give an example- rammstein pretty much cover rock/metal but they gave a different name for what style they do, which was "Tanz Metal" (dance metal) because they use aspects of dance in their music.
every heard of Celldweller? "Switchback" is like metal with a cover of dance/mild techno, anyone who likes dance music will probably like this.
