How does one make sure that their stolen laptop wont be traced ?
Even after reformatting a laptop there are some tracing programs that cannot be deleted and you will never even know the programs there because some tracer programs are designed to show no trace of their existence on the hard drive... so yea i was wondering if anybody can shed some light on how to overcome this little cunnundrum.

If its a 80586 (pentium) or newer, it has what is called an asset tag. As soon as it finds an internet connection (may it be wired, or wireless) it reports the asset tag and it’s current IP to a tracking database. If the laptop was reported stolen with the asset tag, then you’ll probably be fucked.
Your best bet is to remove any wireless card, or turn it off...Or, go and buy one instead of niggering it.

So in other words anything made after 1993( 80586 pentium was made then)is totally traceable if one uses the net in any way.
Do you know of a way to get around the asset tagging ? reformatting wont do shit i assume ?

Well after you get over THAT, youll have to worry about its battery life.
Even if you have the plug and wall adapter, eventually that battery is going to die and you cant buy another one just anywhere, you have to got to the manufacteror and give them the correct info to get another battery.
So its just not worth jacking a laptop.
