Ok for all you people who like Doom 3 or any of those 1st shooter mode type of games you are going to love this game. Half Life 2 shits on doom 3 and is making its way to the top. But seriously this game is the new big thing, kick ass sound, Design, picture and a huge ass world.

For hl2 you don’t and if any of you play cs they have a cs redone in the source engine (kicks ass) also if you know anything about how to do it it comes with the SDK (software develepmont kit) which allows you to create your own maps, make mods ect.

I’ve played a bit of Half Life 2 and it was good. I played Doom 3 and the graphics were amazing. As much as HL2 owns Doom, you still gotta give it credit. I beat Doom easily. It had a bad ending, i wanted to blast satan just cause i had a power rush christianizing all those imps and stuff. THE HOLY SHOTGUN CRUSHES YOU!

I played the HL2 demo. it runs slowly on my computer and the graphics are choppy. I need to upgrade my hardware. But I’d still recommend it if your computer is better than a Dell Dimension 4500. and have more than 64 mb graphics, and at least 512 ram.
My younger brother, who has a better computer (its newer) and i’ve played Counter Strike Condition Zero on his computer - and its not much better than CS. Get CS source instead. also if you have a mouse with a mouse ball- its time to upgrade to optical. On CS/HL2 you have to clean you mouse like every couple hours.
