This is a old technique but i use it alot to make metal objects.

Required

metal that you can melt

a fire place or a fire pit wil do, or a forge

a big piece of wax to carve the object you want to make
or
a piece of wood to carve the object you want to make

clay to cover the wood or wax in. you need enough clay so that i covers it thick but not to thick. the clay need to be sturdy without the wood or wax holding it up. Also the bigger the item you make the thicker you want to apply the clay so it will no break when you pour the metal into it.

Instruction

1. carve the wood or wax to the shape or the item you want to make.

2. get clay and cover the item completely but leave a hole so that you can pour the metal into it.

3. Let the clay dry completely

4. after drying the clay covering the wood or wax, put it in the fireplace, forge or pit. Let it stay in there for a bit.

5. carfully remove the clay(it will be hot) , the wax should have melted away or if it was wood all burned to ash.

6. let it cool down. and try to shake out some of the ash carefuly if you used wood. But this is not nessesary.

7. melt the metal anf pour into the mold and let the metal harden

8. finally crack the clay to get your metal item.
