First of all, I’d like to state that this song kicks so much ass.

Now, I’ve ’just started’ compared to some of you guitar junkies out there. Therefore I only know only a few songs. (Wild Thing-- Jimi Hendrix, Cocaine-- Jimi Hendrix, Peter Gunn Theme-- Blues Brothers, and of course... Smoke on the Water intro--(Forgot who)).

Right! I want to learn Stairway to Heaven next, and I was wondering;

1) Is it treble clef, or bass clef? or both?!

2) Are there any harmonics? I’ve listened to the song 100’s of times, but I don’t think my ears can tell the difference sometimes.

3) Would you recommend it? Or should I skip this song and try a different one?

3 continued) Which song then?

4) My acoustic is out of commision at the moment. If I played it on my electric, without any fancy distorters or wah-peddles, would it still sound decent (in the end of course)?

5) Any tips and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks again.

This could also be a thread to discuss this song, Stairway to Heaven (guitar-wise, of course).

Thanks! I have the same book.

And I found out today. trebble cleff is for electric/acoustic, and bass cleff is for bass guitars. Sort of a duh, but you know..

There are no harmonics in it either.

Hmm, what else is there? Oh well, I figured out most of my questions today at my guitar lessons.

Everybody and their grandmother knows that song. I say don’t bother, too cliche.
