im looking to get a new amp for my guitar without spending over 500 bucks (yeah im broke but i need one).i need one that would be good for metal. im thinkin about getting a Randall amp. i read most randalls sound better than marshall due to marshalls mass production style. any reccomendations?

My line 6 Spider II full stack cranks the fucking metal man. A half stack is only like 500 bucks I think, and with the spider III’s out now it should be easier to find em cheaper.
Randalls are pretty nice, I’ve gotten some pretty thrashy tones out of em trying them out. You could go either way I guess.
The newer marshalls suck, the newest marshall I’d buy would be 10 years old.

Look around for a USED 50 Watt Marshall JCM800, they’re amongst the best amp ever, hands down, like Fcuk said, 10 years old or better, everything is replaceable in ’em, so maintaining ’em ain’t too much of a problem, as long as you got a good Amp Tech in your area.

Look for a used 5150. It will destroy everything else in that price range.

Wow. I’m also in need for a new amp. My shitty amp has lost all its good sound, now sounds like shit. Wish I had the money.
