anybody know any ways to make a torrent download faster?
i’ve already used the port/router config, but i still only getting 30 kbs.
any ideas?

not much more you can do. the way torrents usually work is they start off slow, but then get gradually faster, then taper off. if it’s something really big, just leave it overnight.
and the download speed also is affected majorly by who you’re seeding off of, and how many seeds you have and how many have a completed file

you could try going to your options, then turning UPNP off. if that makes things worse, just turn it back on. if it makes no difference, just leave it off
also, if you’re using azureus, go to options>tracker>server(i think) and enable tracking on HTTP then auto-discover your external IP

nah, i use good old fashioned bittorrent,
UPnP on works better for me.
it still takes like 3-4 days for a 4.6gig movie.
if the tracker site says theres like 27 seeders, is it normal that i only connect to like 8 people with 100%, and most of those connections are like 1 or 2 kbs?

for 4.6 gigs, that sounds decent...unless you’re talking about 24/7 d/ling
i usually download about 10 hours a day, and Call Of Duty 2 (about 4 gigs) took 3 days.
and yea, 8 people sounds good, but the kbs is kinda low. try to search isohunt if you didn’t already for the movie you’re downloading. that should put the file with the most seeds at the top when you search

i use torrentspy. that any good?
it is 24/7 downloading.
i have this 3yrld computer in my basement i use only for downloading, and i never shut that off.

im not very familiar with torrent spy. as long as they list which torrents have the most seeds, it’s fine. im just more used to isohunt

theres no real way to speed it up it just depends on whos seeding and as for torrent site there really all the same

I use Azureus, and you can download plug-ins like auto speed that really help download speeds, without hurting your upload speeds
