How to start a fire

There are several ways to start a fire. Most of you know the basics but I will tell you the way that isn’t as well known but just as usefull in survival.


The way I will explain is how to use a prison match(will be explained in my next egg).
In this way you need an:
-empty lighter
-a prison match(tissue paper with lint).


You start by creating a fire friendly environment by placing dry twigs, moss and leaves. It is a good idea to keep a good supply of thick branches and logs near the fire to keep your fire going.

Once you have a fire friendly environment start by taking you prison match and empty lighter, then strike the lighters flint wheel towards the prison match.

The sparks will ignite the lint which will in turn will burn the tissue. Once the prison match is burning place it into the moss,twigs and leaves.


This method is well known to have been use by prisoners to light their cigarettes in prison when their lighter ran out of fuel. They had to use the prison match method because lighters were a rare item in prisons, thus making the prisoners modern day survivalists.
