Solve for the system shown. Put your answer in (x,y) format, with no spaces.
10x + 7y = 99
y - x = 2
I dont know how to do x,y format. Teach me.

x,y format means that if x=2 and y=3 then the answer should be listed as (2,3).
I would need my drawing pad/pen hooked up to actually illustrate how to solve this problem. Maybe I will do it later this evening.

Take your equations, get a variable by itself.
Plug the new equation into the other equation.
Solve it.
Take your answer and plug it into the unsolved equation.
Solve.

Wait so does the answer have to apply for both x’s and y’s? Or a set for top, and a set for bottom?

When you’re solving a system of equations (as above), you’re finding the intersection point of the two lines. Therefore, the answer (5,7) works for both equations.
BTW, thanks, DB for solving it. Fives to all your stuff from me later.
