i dont understand how some people have 5000 odd refferals- are they cheating the system?

I have 1354, there are rules regarding referrals, but they are never obeyed, the major rule is not to use flash + myspace.

im either 2nd or third on highest referalls, ill give you some clues... i have over 800 msn contacts, imagine 500 of them visiting my link a day? (even though they dont, that helps alot), i set it as my schools homepage whenever im on (heh) and theres a few other ways. i know how kirko gets his so high, but i think its just within the rules.
