Quote: a very fast floppy drive
that made me lol. but really it’s a nice little box to have around.
you should hook it up to a tv/sound and use it for media.
you could also find a wireless usb controler and have a kick ass rom/emulator set up. get your nes, snes, dream cast, mame, gba all in one place.

I had one of those. I put a beefed up video card with a tv port. The damn thing would overheat like mad. It’s also easy to break off motherboard components in it because it’s hard to get your hand in there to install things. It’s rather cramped. I traded it away. It was a nice idea in theory but not one in practicality.

That’s the first thing I wanted to fix.
I installed a variable speed fan in the CPU cooling thingamajig so that when the processor goes over 48 degrees the fan will speed up and when I hit 75 degrees, the system switches off.
I plan on turning the thing into a DVR/media system (the WinTV card came with a remote) that will allow me to stream videos off my server as well as save live video however because I only have a single PCI slot I can’t use a 100BASE FX fiber card and I’m stuck with the built in 10/100 network port.

Uhhh....better be a pretty good fan or you better live in a pretty cool place.
75 is room temperature (about) and you need a pretty good fan to get it below that, and it doesnt start damaging until like 95....well its a older one so i cant be sure but 48 degrees? daaaaaaaamn
anyway, best of luck with getting that thing to work good.

Um, those temps were in celsius.
Right now the processor is holding steady at 40 degrees.
