Cloverfield looks good, but I hate the first person perspectie. The shaky camera in Blair Witch made me nauseas, so this won’t be any better. I’ll wait and download the movie, so I can pause it. My birthday is Monday, I’ll go see Meet the Spartans intead.

Slusho is a soft drink in the movie made by the Tagruato Corporation.
On the 1-18-08 site there’s a picture of a chef, if you flip it over, there’s a bunch of Japanese writing, thanks to Google, I found a translation.
-->Everybody, thank you for viewing! I’ll introduce this week’s delicious recipe. Please make sure to keep this one cold!
* Skinless chicken breast - 2, cut in halves
* Sōmen noodles - 10 oz.
* Watercress - 1/2 cup cut into small strips
* Turnip - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
* Shiitake Mushrooms - 1/2 cup
* Chicken stock - 1/3 cup
* Sake - 2 tbsp.
* Sugar - 1/2 tsp.
* Deep-sea crab - one
In a small saucepan, stir together 1/3 cup water, chicken stock, sake, and sugar. Chill it until it becomes cold. Grill the chicken breast on both sides for about 8 minutes, and then chill. Boil the noodles for about 3 minutes, and then run under cold water until chilled. Mix the watercress, turnips, and mushrooms into the sōmen. Slice the chicken thinly and arrange on top of the sōmen mix. Just before you serve, put the crab in the sauce and pour over the noodles generously.

Yes, because all movies without overly used cliche monsters suck. Just because the monster hasn’t been in 500 movies already, a 1980’s children’s cartoon, or a collection of short stories by H.P. Lovecraft doesn’t mean it sucks, it means it’s original, which isn’t something I can say about virtually any other movie this year.
The "deep sea crab" can apparently be seen on Slusho’s history page on slusho.jp.

Turns out the translation for the recipe was wrong, it isn’t ocean bottom crab, it’s ocean bottom nectar, which happens to be the secret ingredient to slusho.

Skinless chicken breast Cut in half 2 pieces
Soumen Noodles 10 oz
Watercress Julien 1/2 cup
Radish Sliced thin 1/2 Cup
Shitake 1/2 Cup
Chicken Broth 1/3 Cup
Sake 2 Large Tablespoons
Sugar 1 small teaspoon
Kaitei no mitsu 1 pinch
(Bottom of the Sea Nectar/Honey)
In a small sauce pan, stir together 1/3 cup water, chicken stock, sake and sugar
Bring to a boil then chill until cold. Grill chicken brast 8 min on both sides then also chill
Boil the soumen for 3 min and leave in cold water untill chilled
Spead watercress shitake and radish around the soumen. Slice the chicken breast thin and fan ontop of the soumen
add the bottom of the sea honey into the sauce before serving
Pour the sauce generously.

Further research suggests that the Tagruato Chuai station featured in that video doesn’t contain oil, meaning the dark spot in the water wasn’t oil, my guess it was either something they were extracting (ocean-bottom nectar?), or the Cloverfield monster than caused it to collapse.

the whole point of it was to point it out but not make it SEEM like the monster.
when the rig collapses you can see a brief fin/tentacle pop out of the water.

first off: 01-18-08 the very first website developed for cloverfield -or- 01-18-08 as it was originally tagged.
now anyone who has just heard about this movie doesnt deserve to go see it,
stop asking for people to go find you more info on the movie,
do it yourself instead.
there was a contest for 200 people to get invited to "Robs going away party" in NYC at some bar, on january 17th, in which all the cast should be there, i believe that contest is over though. and i could not join due to the fact that i live in canada

that was a huge debate for the longest time because lots of idiots cant listen to the audio properly.
