Sadly, it’s all the rage here. I believe they originated in England and were quickly adopted by the Eastern Seaboard in the U.S. Then city planners from there moved westward leaving a path of round-a-bouts and destruction in their wake.
They would be a good idea except 1.) most people here don’t understand them and 2.) they are put in inappropriate places where there is too much traffic and it backs up (a light would be better).
Thank You! I’m so glad someone agrees with me that it’s just easier to put a 4 way intersection or something people actually can use half a brain to figure out. Sure, it might save on gas efficiency but only if you don’t have to yield for other cars.

That’s the thing. Think about how many cars must be going around Pittsburgh. Wow OPIV. You nailed a lot of those on the head for me, except for anything alcohol/drug-related being I’m Straight Edge. Also, I’ve never had to eat out of a dumpster or been hit by a car. I did sleep in a tube at a park once.
Oh, and having your brakes cut out while driving when you just got them replaced a few months ago sucks ass from a straw. I’m still trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong with them. The only good side is that I didn’t hit anyone.
