Do you have ripped skate laces like this?
Well, Heres the best way to fix them without buying new ones! Also, you will probably have this stuff at home so you don\’t need to pay anything!
What you will need:
Your skate shoes, with ripped laces ON them
Roll of electrical tape
1 tube of plumbers silicone, or something of the sort (I like the silicone better because it makes it like rubber, therefore its harded to be picked off)
Step 1
Get your silicone and take the nozzle off it. If its a new tube, open the end with the knife.
Step 2
Push a bit of silicone out. There are 2 ways.
First way
Get the nozzle and put the skinny side into the bottom of the silicone tube.
Put it flat on your workspace and push. A bit should come out.
Second way
This is my preffered option, as its much easier. Take a piece of straightened out wire snd scrape a bit of silicone out.
Step 3
Find your broken lace. Hold it down so its touching the other part of the lace(if its ripped down the middle) AND so its touching the material on the OUTSIDE of the shoe. Wipe your silicone on it and hold the lace there
Step 4
If you don\’t mine getting your hands more siliconey, take your hand off the lace, cut a bit of tape from the roll.
Put the tape covering the lace and the material and push down. If your a pansy and worry about getting silicone on your hands, cut the bit of tape first. The tape should be about 2-3cm long
Your finished! Let the silicone dry for 24 hours before skating in the shoes again.
