I wrote this to tell all you #*@! ups the best way to hotwire a car becasue you guys keep leaving things out and most of the meathods dont work very well.

Before starting make sure it is nighttim. You have your key/slimsime/ha MAN/Walky talky

All these thing are important. You must have a plan and a getaway driver in case the cops come or have a bike and a place to hide if the cops find you. Most of all you have to have a good plan and know what car to look for.

If you are going to CarJack then make sure the cops arent around and keep your eyes open for the owner of the car and other people if a person walks by and is suspicious quickly turn the lights out and hide on the ground under the car or anouther good place. Also keep some sort of weapon on you.

Anouthe important thing is to practice on a friends car or your car before doing this.

Part 1: Breaking into the car
Most cars that are more than ten years old have the push-button locks. They are the ones that com straight out of the top of hte car door and hav rods that are set vertically inside the door. THese locks can be easily opened with a wire hanger or a Slim Jim.

Newer cars have horozontal locks which emerge from the side of the car door and are attached to horizontal lock rods. These are more difficult to manipulate without a special tool but can also be picked.

Take a wire hanger and bend it into a long J
Square off the bottom of the J.THE BOTTOM SHOULD BE ABOUT 2 INCHES WIDE

Slide the hanger J into the door between the window and plastic weather stripping.
Ope the door by feel and trial and error. Feel for the end of the button rod inside the door and when you have it pull up and it will open the lock.

With a slimJim (a peice of springy steel with a little notch in it) makes it easier to pull the lock rod up. Buy them at a car supply store.

Insert the SlimJim the same way as the hanger

Don jerk the tool trying to find the lockrod, because it will break the wires in an electrical door or break the linkage.

Mov it gently back and fort til it grabs the lock rod then move it until the lock flips up.

ANOUTHER WAY TO BREAK INTO THE DOOR IS TO PICK THE LOCK!!

You will need 2 tools. One to manipulate the pins or wafers inside the lock core and one to turn the cylinder.

Use a small alln wrench to turn the lock and a long bobby pin to move the pins and wafers.

NOTE THAT MANY CAR LOCKS ARE MUCH HARDER TO PICK THAN HOUSE DOOR LOCKS!!

Whil the bobby pin is in the lock exert constant and light turning preasure with the wrench

Move the bobby piin to manipulate the pins or wafers until you feel the lock turn smoothly.

AL MEATHOD!!

If you have a key from a different car from the same manufacturer sometimes they work because there are only a few lock variations and the key might work if you are lucky!

Or use the tennis ball tecnique which I am not very good at.

Part 2: Hot wiring the car.

Hot wiring a car without the owners permission is illegal, except in repossessions. Hotwiring is dangerious if you dont know what you are doing.There is a risk of electrical shock.

Open the hood

Locate the coil wire (red)

To find the coil wire follow the plug wires, which lead to the coil wire. The plug and coil wires are located at the rear of the engine on most V-8s. On a six-cylinder engine the wires are on the left side near the center of the engine. and on four-cylinder engines they are located on the right side near the centre of the engine.

Run a wire from the positive side of the battery to the positive side of the coil.

This gives power to the dash and the car wont start unless it is performed first.

Locate the starter solenoid

On most GM cars, it is on the starter. On FOrds it is located on the left-side fender well.

The easiest way to find it is to follow the positive battery cable you will see a small wire and the positive battery cable. Cross the two with a screwdriver or pliers.This cranks the engine!

Tips from the tipster

If the car has standard transmission make sure it is in neutral and the parking brake is on. If it has automatic transmission make sure it is in park.

Unlock the steering wheel using a flat blade screwdriver and place it at the tow of the centre of the steerin column. Push the screwdriver between the steering wheel and the column. Pussh the locking pin away from the wheel. Be very firm when pushing the pin. It will not break.

Now drive away with a new veichle and hopefuly get some cash for it.
