now first of all if you want to be able to do anything at all on your psp, u have to break free of the chains sony has put around the psp, u need to downgrade your psp to version 1.50 and then upgrade to a custom firmware,
but daresay.....there is a risk
i am not going to be held liable if this does not work
it has worked for me many times
if you do not follow my instructions 1005 perfectly
that is your fault, not mine
anyway
first of all.......to downgrade
you need to upgrade your psp to one of these downgradable firmwares
2.0,2.5,2.6,2.71,3.03,3.50,
anything inbetween or higher will not work
if you have higher you will need to buy a pandoras battery
just search for it on google
for each downgrader except 2.5/2.6/3.5 you will need
1.50 legal sony firmware file http://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=163
to downgrade
2.0
download this package http://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=164
connect your psp via usb/card reader , then browse it, click psp, then click game and in the game folder create a folder called "UPDATE" without the quotes obviously and put in there the eboot.pbp (sonys legal 1.50 firmware)
from the package you downloaded (mphdowngrader.zip) click on the psp folder then thephoto folder and right click on the file overflow.tif and select copy
next go to the location on your psp; psp/photo and paste it there
now get the two other files that were in the mphdowngradr.zip (h.bin and index.dat) and copy and past them into the root of your psp memory stick (eg where the folder called psp is)
on your psp go to photos then go to memory stick and open up overflow.tif
Now you will see a jumble of numbers, this is OK. Wait about 30 seconds or so and restart your PSP. (Hold the power button up as long as it takes to reboot the PSP, it will take much longer than usual, but it will turn off eventually.) A file will now have been created in your Memory Stick’s root directory called index.dat.bak, check this out with your USB connection to be sure.
now go to (on your psp) game then click memory stick and run the psp update 1.50
run through it blah blah blah
then nearing the end at about 99% it will read an error
dont panic just restart your psp
then when u turn it on again it will show a blue screen with errors in several languages, simply click circle and it shoudl reboot,
if it dosnt reboot just reboot it manualy and try hitting circle again
viola 1.5
2.5/2.6
unforunately for this firmware to be downgraded you will need an unpatched version of liberty city stories, to check this look above where the game says umd and if the update is 2.0 you have the right version if its 2.6 the patched version (unusable)
if you dont hav this game just update to 2.71 and downgrade using my next tutorial
download this executable http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=605(this downgrader is mcuh simpler it is just an executable with on screen instruactions)
Run the exucutable you just downloaded
A screen will come up telling you not to downgrade if you have a TA-082 psp, just click on the screen to continue
Another screen will come up telling you to use an unpatched copy of GTA, as before just click on the screen to continue.
It will ask you if you are ready to upgrade. Click on yes.
A screen will come up telling you to connect your psp to your pc, connect your psp to your pc and click on the screen to continue. I highly suggest you format your memory stick before you continue.
A screen will pop up asking you if you agree, read what it says and click on agree to continue.
Once again a sceen will pop up asking you if you have a 2.5 or a 2.6 psp, make sure you click on the right one! Press next to continue.
A screen will come up asking you to select the root of your memory stick, just browse, click on your psp (your psp should be called removable disk) and press next to continue.
Some files should now be transfering to your memory stick, when they are finished click next.
You can now disconnect the usb cable and load up the GTA UMD.
When the UMD loads up you will see a menu with "Downdater test" written on it, before you do anything connect your psp to the A/C adapter.
when you are ready press x or o to run the downgrader.
Yor psp will go black and the memory stick light will start flashing, do not remove the A/C adapter or turn off your psp.
When the downgrader is finished the psp will restart and a data corrupt message will appear, press o to continue.
You may see an error saying disc could not be read, if this happens restart you psp.
and now you have a 1.50 psp
2.71
download the downgrader
http://vbmaster.portablesofdoom.org/271generic_tut/hend_generic_pack.zip
copy every file to the ROOT of your Memory Stick (where the MP_ROOT and PSP folders are).
overwrite the PSP and GAME folders
take the "EBOOT.PBP" (sonys 1.50 legal firmware)
rename it to "UPDATE.PBP" then just copy the file in PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder
Connect the AC adapter to the PSP, highlight the "PHOTO" icon and press the "Triangle" then "Slideshow"
if it freezez, restart and try again
if your screen go’s red it just means you hav failed restart manualy and try again
if your screen go’s green or blue it means success
it should restart automatically
now go to GAME > Memory Stick and start the application that is there
if your battery is lower then 75% it will not work
once the app has finished you should now be on psp firmware 1.50
3.03
unforunately for this firmware to be downgraded you will need an unpatched version of liberty city stories, to check this look above where the game says umd and if the update is 2.0 you have the right version if its 2.6 the patched version (unusable)
download this file
http://www.biaklan.com/downloads/303/303dg.zip
from the package copy the psp folder to the root of your memory stick.
rename the EBOOT.PBP (sonys legal firmware) to UPDATE.PBP then copy it to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/
Load GTA LCS
It should get to loading save game, clear the screen, the screen should fill with a light blue color and then reset the PSP
go to the Game menu and run the x.yz update
click accept blah blah blah etc
and you now have 1.50 firmware
3.50
unforutanately for this downgrader you will need a copy (on umd ) of lumines if you dont and you are on this firmware there is nothing u can do except try and find the lumines game
Download the downgrader pack from this site http://www.4shared.com/file/18722963/a3f1aa6c/350_downgrader_igizmoreblogspotcom.html
scroll about halfway down the page and click download file
copy the psp folder from the download to the root of your memory stick on your psp
run Lumines on your psp
The screen will clear to black and fill with a light blue colour, then the PSP will reset itself.
go to the memory stick under game and run the x.yz update (1.50)
do all the accepting rubbish click x once finished etc etc
if when you turn it back on the screen is in blue saying settings corrupted or something like that click circle to resotre factory settings like it says
you should now have 1.50 psp firmware
CUSTOM FIRMWARE
your psp is now homebrew enabled
but you will not be able to run any of your umds or have any of the new features in the psp home screen
this is where custom firmware comes in
first you will need the custom firmware files http://exophase.com/files/psp/3.52M33.zip
Copy the M33CREATOR folder to the folder game which is inside the folder psp which is on your psps memory stick
now download the 3.52 update http://files.exophase.com/psp/352.PBP
and we already have the 1.50 firmware file
rename the 1.50 firmware file to 150.pbp and put that in the folder m33creator which is in psp/game folder on your psp memory stick
also place the 3.52 update in the same folder and rename it to 352.pbp if it is not yet already named that
go to the game menu on your psp and under memory stick run the "3.52 M33 CREATOR" program
once thats done run the 3.52 M33UPDATE program
follow the prompts
you should now have custom firmware (3.52 m33)

RIPPING PLAYING PIRATED GAMES
RIPPING
to rip a pirated game use psp filer and it should rip it straight onto your memory stick
alternatively go into recovery mode on your psp by holding down the r trigger when booting up and go into configuration and change the usb type to disc0 or umd
then go to usb connection on your psps home screen
and on your computer simply simply right click and copy the the .iso file to a location on your computer
PLAYING DOWNLOADED OR RIPPED GAMES
on your psps memory stick make a folder if there already isnt one called "ISO"
then get any of your downloaded or ripped psp games and put it in that folder
a ripped psp game is in .iso format and can be opend in winrar
if you known what your doing you can extract the files, edit your game, replace the background tracks and then recompile it
if you would like to know how to do this tell me wether or not i should make an egg teaching people how to edit there ripped psp games
if your psp game dosnt run full speed
go into recovery menu on your psp go into cpu speed
and change umd/iso to 333
note this will drain your battery more then if it was set on a lower setting
if your game dosnt boot
go into configuration and experiment with the umd/iso driver option
so if there is absolutely anything you wanto about psps or why something didnt work for you message me
and if you want i will make an egg on how to edit your ripped psp games
thankyou
