Saturday was the big protest down in california, wich gather almost a million bodies marching down the street
I felt inspired to walk out today after seeing teens protest nationally Monday.
I prepared and distributed flyers to help my classmates understand the main points of proposed federal legislation that aims to make it a crime rather than a civil violation to live in the United States without proper documentation. The legislation would also put penalties on employers who hire immigrants and build fences along parts of the U.S. Mexico border.
As we marched downtown, students shouted \"Mexico!, Mexico\’\’ and \"Latinos unidos, jamas seran vencidos,\’\’ which means ``Latinos together will not be defeated.\"
Our walk started after Homeroom we all gathered in the cafeteria and just left school trought the front door, about two blocks from school we saw about ten police cars they were not here to take us back, but to escort us, so we walked to Another High School, Sam Rayburn after we got there More students ran out of school to join us, by these time we had over 600 hundred students walking down the main street to City Hall, About two blocks From City Hall About 40 police cars surrunded us and 11 school buses arrived, an officer said we had two options, either get in the buses and go back to school, or get arrested, By these time we had made our point, T.V crews had seen us, we all went back.
We got put in the gym, I tought our principal was furios, instead he said he was proud of and, and he respected our actions, he said \"Go home and come back tomorrow, ready to learn\"
We\’ll be protesting again on April 13!
Here are a couple of pictures i got from a news website!
