maybe some of you saw, i made an egg not too long ago called ’the simplicity of a rubix cube’. this is the first of 3 eggs on how to actually solve the rubix cube. This is Stage 1, the top layer of the cube.
I prefer to start with the white side of the rubix cube.
If you look at the cube you will notice that the middle of every side of the cube can never be moved, at least if you follow the rules you cant. the orange is always across from the red, the white is always across from the yellow, and the green is always across from the blue. this is how we know what color the side is.

okay, now to the solving.
staring on the white side.
like i said in my previous egg, the first thing you do is make a cross on the white side, or which ever side you start on. to do this you have to first find the square that has one white and one, lets say blue square. now, line that blue and white square up so that the blue side of the square is touching the blue middle square, like this
from that, just turn the blue side 180 degrees
if, you have all the squares, but the two colors are touching, then there is another simple technic to fix that.
for example:
move that bottom section to the right (or left, i just like right)
turn the side, in this case the blue side, 90 degrees so that your two red colors are touching.
now turn the red side 90 degrees to that the white side of the square is touching the center white square and the red colored side of the square is touching the red center square
dont forget to turn the blue side back to where it was so that both squares are in the right place
continue that until you have a cross, like so:
Next, we have to fill in the sides.
for example, look at this picture.
note the two middle colors, green and orange.
now look at this part of the cube.
see how the have all the 3 colors that are on the 3 sides touching the edge of the cube. this is getting a bit complex. move the green and orange and white side of the cube under where you want it to go.
you cant see the white side, but its above where the square is right now. move the square you just put under where you want it to go to the side.
now, move the green side (you cant see it in the pictures, but its opposite the blue) down 90 degrees, like so:
now move the white side you moved out of the way so that it is touching the white square that you just put into place.
and then turn the blue side back.
now the side is in place, and you can put the rest of the sides in place as well.
now take a look at this.
to get this piece in place, you have to get the white side to face you.
do what you would do if the white side where in the right place, but rotate the bottom 90 degrees more then you would if it were in the right place. that should turn the white side facing out. so that you can put it in place.
when you turn the red side, it the cube should look something like this
once you finish all the sides, you are done with the first stage.
it should look like this.
yeah. there ya go. stage one.
soon, i will post stage 2, and then stage 3, but this stuff is hard, so take in incruments.
i hope you found this insightful. look for my next post.
