Before learning how to do a kickflip, you should learn how to ollie. To do a kickflip, start in a normal ollie stance with the heel of your front foot hanging off of the side of the board. Pop the board up with your back foot and flip the board by sliding your front foot up towards the front of the board. If you did this right, the board should flip. When the board has completed a full flip, catch it with your back foot and land on the board. Ride away smoothly. Learning to do a kickflip is hard. It can take anywhere from a few months to a year. Once you have mastered the kickflip, you should learn more difficult tricks like varial flips and hardflips.
