Hola, Joshy Poshy here with another "health egg".

Getting a good night’s sleep is very important for growing teens. As you get older (30-60), you actually don’t need as much sleep to function. Since most of the people on RE are under 30, I thought it would be a good idea to help you get some sleep.

1. Atmosphere:
It is important to be in a comfortable atmosphere when going to sleep. First, Don’t ever jew out of sheets. Buy a high thread count sheet. It is much more comfortable than other sheets, and it will help you get to sleep faster (Also, I would avoid the t-shirt sheets. They are a weird fabric that is uncomfortable to sleep on). Next, get the room at optimal temperature. If it is the winter in your country (which it is now for the US), get yourself a heater. I know it is getting more expensive to heat houses, but heating your room only is pocket change. Don’t make your room a sauna, just keep it around 70. Finally, make your room smell nice. I figured out a little trick that gets rid of any smells in your room, and also is soothing (wow, that sounded gay). Take a container (I took the lid from a container from a chinese food place) and a rag. Fold up the rag so it fits in the container. Take vanilla, and cover the rag with it so that it is drenched, but not so their is a pool in the container. Put this in your room anywhere (preferably not in eyesight) and your room will smell DELISH.

2. Positioning:
This is probably the least important topic, but it can still be helpful. Everyone has different ways they like to sleep. Some like to on their side, some like to on their stomach. Lying on your back is an okay way to sleep, but I find that it is definitely the hardest way to actually fall asleep. Lying on your stomach may be comfortable, but it is bad for digestion. Lying on your side is ideal. This allows for good digestion, and comfort.

First Pic is best position.... and you may hump a pillow if you’d like also.

3. Food/ Drink
A good habit to start is to not eat or drink anything 2-3 hours before bed. Eating right before bed can lead to many problems. First, and probably the most obvious would be; drinking before bed can lead to trips to the bathroom during the night (or for some... wet pajamas). Trips to bathroom, although less than a minute, interrupt the sleeping cycle. Next, eating and drinking raises blood sugar levels. Trying to go to sleep when you have tons of energy is quite difficult. Lastly, eating and drinking before sleep is bad because it can’t be easily burned off. Think about it... you lying practically motionless in your bed. Not burning these off is bad for two main reasons: It can lead to getting chubby, or acne. If you have acne, this can aggravate it greatly. (Another acne tip: Eating 2 servings of fiber supplement daily will help. I can guarantee it. Psyllium husk pills work fine as a fiber supplement).

4. Calm your brain.
Calming your mind before sleep is probably the best way to allow yourself to get a good night’s sleep. Try to avoid all video-games, computer use, and television for one hour before bed. I know this may be hard, as many people have a television in their room. I recommend finding a calm activity to do before bed. Wanking is NOT a calming activity. Trust me on this one. Yankin the sausage before bed will leave you restless, and you will usually stay awake for hours. Try to "release" earlier in the day.

With your new sleeping techniques, you will do better in school, be more energetic, and get the babes.
